A KuCoin Report Indicates the Indian Crypto Market Is Growing despite Recent Recession

Among those Indians surveyed, 1,541 identified themselves as crypto investors, while 501 said they would buy cryptocurrencies in the coming months. Many respondents consider that ambiguity in government regulations on cryptocurrencies is a discouraging factor.

A recently published report from KuCoin revealed optimistic growth prospects for the cryptocurrency ecosystem in India. The document showed the results of a survey, which it described as an in-depth look at the development of the blockchain industry and the cryptocurrency space.

KuCoin surveyed 2,042 Indians between 18 and 60, including 1,541 who identified themselves as crypto investors. However, although the other 501 were still exploring crypto out of curiosity, they planned to buy cryptocurrencies in the following six months.

The report indicated that about 115 million crypto investors in India own cryptocurrencies or have traded digital assets over the last six months. That is equivalent to 15% of the Indian population between 18 and 60 years old.

According to the document, there has been a slight increase in the number of crypto investors over the last few months despite new tax regulations.

Furthermore, the report mentioned the many tech-driven young people, the growing number of Internet users, and the advancement of FinTech. Those factors put cryptocurrencies on track for broader adoption, making India a crucial cryptocurrency hub.

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) recently estimated that 7.3% of the Indian population owns digital assets.

The Indian Market Keeps Growing despite the Crypto Winter

KuCoin also indicated that the crypto market in India continues to grow positively despite the recession.

The report said that over 50% of crypto investors plan to buy more cryptocurrencies in the following six months. That shows an optimistic sentiment towards the overall crypto market.

The survey also revealed that the Indian crypto market might reach USD 241 million by 2030. It explained that this would occur despite the tough stance from the government and the application of a 30% tax on cryptocurrency income.

However, the respondents consider that the main obstacles to investing in cryptocurrencies are the lack of knowledge, regulation, and security.

According to the report, a crucial factor in discouraging potential investors is the ambiguity in government regulations. Besides, it showed that 33% of those surveyed think this is a considerable concern when considering investing.

In addition, many Indian investors also express security concerns when investing in cryptocurrencies. That happens because 26% of the respondents worry about hack threats, while 23% fear they will not recover their money.

The Indian government keeps working on regulating cryptocurrencies, while the central bank insists on banning them. The governor of the Bank of India warned that the crypto market might collapse and cause small investors to lose all their money.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin is trading at around USD 19,848 and has accumulated a 1.1% loss over the last 24 hours. While its daily trading volume is above USD 25.18 billion, its market capitalization is about USD 379.80 billion, according to CoinGecko.

The Future of the Crypto Market

Interview with Ayron Ferreira, Head of Research Analysis at Titanium Asset.

Titanium Asset is a Brazilian resource manager specializing in investments in crypto assets. Registered with the Securities Commission of this country, it follows all the regulations of the financial sector, both traditional and digital.

Its head of analysis and research, Ayron Ferreira, emphasizes the strength and reliability of the Blockchain beyond the fall of cryptocurrencies. He talked with LEADERS about NFT, BTC, ETH, and perspectives of the financial sector in general. Here are excerpts from the interview:

What is the impact on the crypto ecosystem in general?

The impact has been really considerable. From nearly $3 trillion in November 2021, the market capitalization has today reached close to $970 billion. It is a considerable loss in the global macroeconomic environment. In the crypto market specifically, we continue to see Bitcoin (BTC) as the leader. It has now gone through a correction that we believe is a normal process of the global market cycle. Beyond that, we remain very optimistic and see a lot of value in it as a long-term monetary asset and as a network. It has a maturity of 13 years already, it works in a highly secure decentralized network, and has never had a hack. In this crisis, that has been proven once again. Every ten minutes a block with transactions is mined and none of these blocks and transactions have been duplicated or interrupted.

How are the other cryptoactives repositioned in the market?

The other crypto assets have yet to prove their worth over time. We have Ethereum, which is 3 years younger than Bitcoin, but still has a lot to prove, for example with better energy efficiency for transaction validation. Once this long overdue scalability upgrade is done, then we believe that Ethereum will also prove its worth. Everything that comes after these two leaders, BTC and ETH, is much riskier. We think the impact of the recent crashes is big, but in the long term there is a lot of intellectual capital and a lot of very interesting innovations being built in the crypto market.

In the private sector, what are the main actions to expand use?

On the part of the private sector, it is necessary to have more actors that bring new solutions, innovations based on Blockchain, cryptoactives, new products, and new services. We believe that greater security will further stimulate the private sector. There are many young people who have managed to get their first job and are already building a career in the crypto market. It is a new niche that is creating new professionals, new analysts, new managers, and new entrepreneurs because it is different and new. In short, it is a matter of time, but we are very optimistic, we believe that Brazil tends to stand out in the crypto market in the coming years, both in the public and private sectors.

According to a Creditor, Mt. Gox Will Not Dump 140,000 BTC on the Market Soon

The creditor tweeted that the release of about 140,000 BTC would not occur immediately but in installments over months. People need to register their addresses in the system for the payment process to start.

Eric Wall, a Mt. Gox creditor, dismissed that the now-defunct exchange would soon dump about 140,000 BTC on the market. Instead, he said it would make the payments in installments over the coming months.

Wall explained that Mt. Gox would not distribute any coins this week, next week, or the week after.

It Would Take Mt. Gox Months to Refund Its Creditors

Wall added that some creditors had sold their rights to Fortress, but nobody knows when they will receive the refunds. Besides, they have not yet been able to register the addresses where Mt. Gox would send the crypto assets.

He said an upcoming notice would allow creditors to submit bank details to start the payment plan.

The misinformation on social media distressed the creditor, who told the community to block accounts saying Mt.  Gox was making flyers. Others also mentioned the false information, highlighting that the repayment process would take the cryptocurrency exchange months.

Cryptocurrency influencer Danny Devan pointed out that the repayment process is just beginning and will last for months. Since he is bearish on selling a high amount of BTC, he expects the bearish market to be a mainstay for some time.

The Mt. Gox Incident Serves as a Warning to the Crypto Industry

The official document on the return procedure explains how Mt. Gox will handle the situation. Creditors may opt to receive an advance balloon payment instead of in installments.

The cryptocurrency exchange requests its creditors to register in the system as soon as possible. Concerning the release of the assets, the court document provides several details.

It states that the Rehabilitation Trustee plans to establish the Allocation Restriction Reference Period after discussions with the court under the Rehabilitation Plan. It indicates that it will happen by late August 2022 until all or part of the refunds is complete.

Many creditors felt relief when the court gave final approval to the payment plan in November 2021. The refund of the assets signals the end of a notorious episode in the crypto market history.

The Mt. Gox incident served as a warning to the cryptocurrency industry, matching the importance of the collapse of LUNA and its stablecoin UST.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin is trading at around USD 19,848 and has accumulated a 1.1% loss over the last 24 hours. While its daily trading volume is above USD 24.17 billion, its market capitalization is about USF 379.80 billion, according to CoinGecko.

Cryptocurrencies in Latin America

The panorama of crypto companies and the communication keys to their success.

Crypto market expansion and consolidation in LATAM open up new opportunities for current and future investors in the region. For example, in Chile, some companies in the sector plan to start activities in the coming months, and others are already active in the local market. This report presents an overview of the crypto market and the main communication keys to achieving the success of a crypto company.

In a context of high uncertainty, low economic growth, and high inflation in the economy of the region, many users are looking closely at the possibility of entering the world of cryptocurrencies.

The adoption of cryptocurrencies has grown 880% in 2021, compared to 2020, and no less than 2003% compared to 2019, according to the 2021 global ranking prepared by the firm Chainalysis, which analyzes the adoption and use of cryptocurrencies in the world. In Latin America, with a market of approximately 32 million users.

The leading countries in the region are Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, and Brazil, which occupy positions 7th, 10th, 11th, and 14th on the list, respectively, and followed further back by Mexico in 44th position and Chile in 47th place.

Crypto Regulation

To date, few Latin American countries have adopted a regulation for cryptocurrencies, but in almost all territories there are already bills in process or study commissions in this regard.

The Fintech bill, currently being urgently processed in the Senate, contains articles on cryptocurrencies or digital assets in general and establishes rules for the transparent and regulated exercise of this economic activity, as well as bodies for its control.

Regulation is an issue that is sensitive to public opinion, made up of both ecosystem actors and external members who are involved in the process.

In this context, the role of crypto companies is key to providing technical knowledge and incorporating them into the legislative discussion. Therefore, it is necessary for them to work from their place to be able to access political interlocutors and become authorized and validated voices on the matter.

Communication for Crypto Companies

The study reveals that communities begin to trust the digital currency market when an expert speaks on the subject, demonstrating its benefits and operation; when daily updates are delivered on the value of cryptocurrencies and explain the causes of the variations; the news of the global market is exposed, the benefits of investing in these assets are explained or the increase in the value of cryptocurrencies is given visibility. On the contrary, mistrust grows when a fall of a company in the sector is registered.

An important challenge for crypto companies is to make themselves known in the market, positioning themselves as a reliable and safe company, in an increasingly competitive environment, along with educating audiences so that they know their advantages over other traditional investment methods and saving.

To stand out from the growing competition, crypto businesses must be able to engage with users. For this, it is necessary to define the tone and voice that you are going to use, the territory of the conversation where you will aim to position yourself, and the appropriate channels to take your message to the audience.

Bitcoin (BTC) Posts Second Straight Bearish Week and Drops below $20,000

0

Bitcoin has returned to the $19,300 horizontal support area; it has broken out of an ascending parallel channel, and it is on the final wave of a five-wave downward move.

Bitcoin (BTC) has closed two consecutive bearish weekly candles and has almost dropped to a new yearly low below $20,000.

Bitcoin has been trending down since reaching an all-time high price of $69,000 in November 2021. This has led to a low of $17,622 in June 2022. The price then bounced back (green icon), validating the horizontal area. $19,300 as support.

However, the rebound was short-lived and BTC only managed to reach a local high of $25,211. Currently, Bitcoin has created two consecutive bearish weekly candles and is trading back at the $19,300 horizontal support area.

BTC Experiencing a Downside Breakout

The daily chart shows that BTC broke down from an ascending parallel channel that had been in place since June 18. Such channels generally contain corrective structures, meaning a breakout of them is the most likely scenario. So, the current drop confirms that the move is corrective and new lows will follow.

The daily RSI continues to fall and is considerably below 50, but has yet to reach its oversold territory.

Wave Count Analysis

The most likely long-term wave count now appears to be fully bearish. BTC began a five-wave (white) downward move after reaching its all-time high and is currently in the fifth and final wave.

Using a wave four pullback outside, the two most likely targets for the bottom are $15,400 and $12,700. These targets are the outer Fibonacci retracement levels of 1.27 and 1.61, respectively.

The short-term count suggests that Bitcoin is in sub-wave three of the fifth wave. This means that there could still be another sizeable move down after this.

A Short Review of Recent Events

At the time of writing this note, the cryptocurrency market is correcting this Monday’s session. Bitcoin lost more than 0.9% to 13,833 points, while Ethereum fell more than three percentage points to $1,446.50.

Cryptocurrencies have fallen sharply so far this year as Federal Reserve rate hikes and soaring inflation cause investors to dump riskier assets.

The fall of Bitcoin above $19,000 is a situation that has been repeated several times so far in 2022. The first time in the year that the cryptocurrency lost the support of $20,000 was on June 18, when the trend downwards took it to fall above $17,000 that same day, the worst record since November 2020.

Sites specialized in cryptocurrencies, such as Coindesk, indicate that the recent announcement of a possible new increase in interest rates, by the United States Federal Reserve (Fed), had an impact on the price drop in the cryptoactive market.

“The largest cryptocurrency by market fell as much as 3.4% to $19,947.32 on Saturday at 2:40 p.m. Singapore time, dipping below $20,000 for the first time since July 14 and extending its drop this year to 57%,” confirmed Bloomberg Line through a publication.

The Price of Bitcoin Might Reach USD 100,000 If This Happened

The analyst predicted that Bitcoin would be worth USD 100,000 if people lost faith in the US dollar. He believes that the demand for the American fiat currency might drop if the Fed failed to lower inflation.

Many bulls still believe Bitcoin (BTC) will reach USD 100,000 in the long term despite its recent drop to around USD 19,000. That new level represented a fall of 70.5% from its all-time high of nearly USD 68,000 in November 2021.

Cryptocurrency analyst Nicholas Merten recently said that the price of Bitcoin might eventually reach USD 100,000. He compares that rise to what happened to gold in the 1970s but considers that it might continue to drop by 85%.

Merten commented that another asset might trade similarly to gold, saying it might be Bitcoin. He highlighted that it has undergone a steady 75% decline and will probably decrease by around 80% to 85% as a minimum.

He explained that the outlook would be optimistic for the pioneering cryptocurrency when it stops falling. He predicted it would reach six figures between USD 100,000 and 200,000, as many expected last year.

He visualizes this future for Bitcoin because people have started to lose faith in the US dollar as the world reserve currency. That scenario leads him to estimate that the demand for the cryptocurrency will grow, causing its price to rise.

Bitcoin Will Reach USD 100,000 If People Lose Faith in the US Dollar

According to Merten, people will prefer Bitcoin to the US dollar if the US Federal Reserve (Fed) cannot lower inflation. The cryptocurrency analyst thinks they will lose faith in most of the world’s fiat currencies.

The expert concludes that much liquidity will want to go somewhere if the US dollar is unstable. That happened to gold in the 1970s, which made its price rise, as Bitcoin might.

The US dollar is at its strongest in 20 years as demand for risky assets like Bitcoin continues to decrease. However, Marten thinks the US dollar might fall along with other fiat currencies if the Fed fails to solve inflation. The specialist knows that this scenario would provide suitable conditions for the price of Bitcoin and its demand.

Jerome Powell, the Fed chairman, recently said it would take time to solve US inflation. He added that the United States would undergo the highest inflation of its last 40 years in 2022.

Bitcoin is trading at around USD 20,014 and has accumulated a 5.4% loss over the last week. While its daily trading volume is above USD 18.61 billion, its market capitalization is about USF 382.96 billion, according to CoinGecko.
