This Will Matter for Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies this Week

0

The new reporting week begins tomorrow, Tuesday, with the release of the final US Consumer Price Indices for February.

Key cryptocurrency Bitcoin slid by more than 10 percentage points to $19,565 in the last week of trading and dragged the entire crypto market south with it. In the second half of the week, the bankruptcy of the American crypto bank Silvergate (SI), as well as the closure of the Silicon Valley Bank (SIVB) by the American Authority Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), caused the collapse of the banking sector in the US and Europe.

On Sunday night, the markets breathed a sigh of relief. In a concerted effort with the Federal Reserve Bank (Fed), the US Treasury announced that it would close Signature Bank (SBNY) and make all SIVB and SBNY deposits available for customer redemption. The entire financial market skyrocketed as a result.

This week begins with the release of the final US Consumer Price Indices for February. Updated US producer prices and US retail sales follow mid-week. Investors then look forward to the next key interest rate decision from the European Central Bank. Below are details of these events.

US Inflation Data in the Spotlight

This Tuesday, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics will present the final inflation data in the US for the month of February. In February, experts expect a drop to 6.0 percentage points. If the analysts’ expectations are confirmed, the stock and crypto market could begin a recovery movement after its correction in recent weeks.

On the other hand, if consumer price indices are higher than estimates, the US dollar should continue to gain ground in the near term. Furthermore, it remains to be seen if the markets can continue to grow despite the bailout operation by the US authorities or if the disappointment will spread throughout the market.

US Mid-Week Producer Prices and Retail Sales

The current US Producer Price Indices (PPI) for the previous month of February are released on Wednesday. Market experts expect a monthly increase of 0.4 percent.

If the price increases pick up as experts expect, the US dollar should continue to gain strength, and thus could lead to more headwinds in the stock and crypto markets. If, on the other hand, the producer price indices are below the estimates of market experts, this would reduce the pressure on Bitcoin and Co. and could lead to a bullish price reaction in the crypto market.

The latest retail sales in the United States for the month of February will also be presented. If the private household buying mood is above the analyst forecast, this could further fuel price recovery in the equity and crypto market. Conversely, if published retail sales are below expert estimates and fall back into negative territory, this would be a further indication of a slowdown in the US economy.

Key Decision on Rates of the European Central Bank

On Thursday, the ECB announces its second interest rate decision in the new business year. In view of the persistently high inflation rate in the euro area, analysts expect a further interest rate adjustment of 50 basis points to 3.50 percent.

A minor increase of just 0.25 percentage points would trigger price fireworks in financial markets in an initial reaction. The euro is likely to fall against the US dollar.

BTC Bulls Will Target $23,000 in Silicon Valley Bank News

It was a bullish Sunday session, with BTC rising 7.57% to end the day at $22,083. US regulators provided a working session where Silicon Valley Bank clients were able to withdraw all deposits, starting today. Technical indicators turned bullish, with less than $23,000 in sight.

On Sunday, Bitcoin (BTC) rose 7.57%. Following a 1.62% gain on Saturday, BTC ended the day at $22,083. Significantly, BTC returned to the $22,000 level for the first time since March 8.

After a range-bound morning, BTC fell to a mid-afternoon low of $20,357. Moving away from the first major support level (S1) at $19,998, BTC surged to a last-hour high of $22,193. BTC broke through the first major resistance level (R1) at $20,924 and the second major resistance level (R2) at $21,320, to end the day at $22,083.

US Regulators Offer Broad-Based Crypto Rally

On Sunday, Silicon Valley Bank remained the focal point of the market. During the afternoon session, US regulators announced that all clients would have access to their deposits from Monday.

Significantly, the Federal Reserve created a new Bank Term Financing Program to offer loans with a maturity of one year to depository institutions. Institutions would pledge Treasury bonds and other held assets.

On Sunday, regulators shut down Signature Bank, which faced a similar problem, with regulators protecting all depositors. USD Coin (USDC) also provided support, with the rebalancing in the works.

After Sunday’s news about Silicon Valley Bank, Circle no longer needs to worry about addressing the $3.3 billion shortfall. This morning, the USDC was up 2.72%, at $0.9928.

More market reaction is expected to news of US regulators bailing out Silicon Valley Bank depositors and tackling SVB contagion.

However, markets should continue to monitor news and updates from Binance and FTX of the ongoing SEC vs. Ripple.

Bitcoin (BTC) Price Action – Technical Indicators

BTC needs to avoid the $21,544 pivot to re-target the first major resistance level (R1) at $22,732. A move through the morning high of $22,698 would indicate an extended bullish session. Crypto news wires need to be crypto-friendly to support a prolonged rally.

In the event of a prolonged rally, BTC would likely test the second major resistance level (R2) at $23,380. The third major resistance level (R3) sits at $25,216.

BTC settled above the 200-day EMA ($22,322). The 50-day EMA turned down to the 200-day EMA, with the 100-day EMA reaching the 200-day EMA, providing bullish signals.

A hold above the 200-day EMA ($22,322) would support a break from R1 ($22,732) to give the bulls a run into R2 ($23,380). However, a drop through the 200-day EMA ($22,322) and 100-day EMA ($22,014) would bring the 50-day EMA ($21,384) into sight. A drop through the 50-day EMA would send a bearish signal.

Algorand’s [ALGO] Downtrend Slows down- Is a Trend Change Likely?

ALGO witnessed heightened selling pressure in the past few days. Funding rates fluctuated, and development activity improved after a sharp decline.

Algorand is a third-generation Blockchain project whose objective is to solve three fundamental problems of this technology, what many call ā€œthe trilemmaā€ of Blockchains: scalability, decentralization, and security. Its native token is ALGO, and it aims to drive convergence between centralized and decentralized finance.

Algorand [ALGO] fell from $0.30 to $0.18 in the region, down 40% since early February. The bulls tried to seek entry into the market as they struggled to defend the $0.18 area. The bulls, however, could attempt a rally if Bitcoin [BTC] defends the $20K support and moves higher.

On lower time frame charts, BTC traded sideways in the $19.76K – $20.5K range. BTC price action could lead to ALGO consolidation in the short term, although underlying market conditions will largely dictate long-term price action during March.

What’s Next for ALGO – Reversal, Consolidation, or More Dump?

ALGO’s strong rally in early 2023 topped out at $0.2998, setting it up for a pullback. Nonetheless, the price bounced near the 50% Fibonacci level ($0.2301), allowing the bulls to inflict a rally. The selling pressure around $0.30, however, proved too much for the bulls to fend off.

ALGO saw increased selling pressure after breaking below the key value area (control line red dot) of $0.2558, keeping price action below the EMA tape.

So far, ALGO has fallen, oscillating between the EMA ribbon and the downtrend line (cyan line). At the time of writing, it was trading in the range of $0.1810 – $0.1933 on the 12-hour chart.

The bulls could attempt a rally if there is a convincing close above the 23.6% Fibonacci level ($0.1933). The continued recovery could face a barrier at the tape EMA ($0.2094). The next significant resistance lies between the 50% Fibonacci level ($0.2301) and the $0.26 range if the bulls close above the tape EMA.

Alternatively, the bears could sink ALGO to the January low of $0.17, especially if BTC falls below $20K and continues its downtrend.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) made lower lows and was in the oversold zone, indicating increased selling pressure. But there was a rally, suggesting a decrease in selling pressure. Also, OBV decreased from February 8, limiting buying pressure in the same period.

Funding rates Fluctuated as Development Activity Recovered

ALGO funding rates fluctuated since early March, showing shaky demand, and tipping the balance in favor of the bears. Further fluctuation could give bears more leverage to devalue the token; therefore, investors should track it.

However, sentiment and development activity improved after sharp declines. It could offer a glimmer of hope for bulls as investor prospects for the token and networking improve.

Crypto-Friendly Banks Collapse as Regulatory Pressure Mounts

The collapse of FTX, Celsius, and Silvergate highlights regulatory and compliance challenges in the emerging crypto industry. Regulatory compliance is necessary for the long-term success of the crypto industry, but many companies have struggled to keep pace with regulatory developments.

As the crypto industry continues to grow, it has faced increasing scrutiny from regulators around the world. Recent months have seen the collapse of several high-profile crypto banks, including FTX, Celsius, and Silvergate.

These crashes have highlighted regulatory and compliance challenges in the emerging crypto industry and raised concerns about the stability and sustainability of the crypto ecosystem.

Celsius and FTX were two of the highest-profile crypto banks to crash in recent months. FTX, which was founded in 2019, was one of the fastest-growing crypto exchanges in the world.

However, the company faced regulatory scrutiny over compliance and customer protection issues. This ultimately led to its downfall, with FTX filing for bankruptcy in January 2023.

Regulators shut down Celsius in February 2023, after accusing the company, founded in 2018, of failing to comply with anti-money laundering regulations and other financial crime laws in the run-up to its collapse.

Silvergate Liquidation Raises USDC Concerns

The collapse of FTX and Celsius has raised concerns about the stability and sustainability of the crypto industry. However, the recent announcement by Silvergate Bank that it will cease operations has added a new level of uncertainty.

Silvergate was one of the largest crypto banks in the world and a major issuer of the USDC stablecoin.

The end of Silvergate has left many investors and clients in limbo. It has also raised concerns about the stability of the USDC stablecoin, which is backed by US dollars held in reserve.

USDC stablecoin issuer Circle had reservations with Silvergate, raising questions about the viability of the USDC stablecoin and the broader stablecoin ecosystem.

The Future of USDC and Stablecoins

The fiasco at Silvergate has highlighted the challenges faced by stablecoins like USDC. Stablecoins have become increasingly popular in recent years as a way to mitigate the risks of investing in volatile cryptocurrencies.

However, the collapse of crypto banks like FTX, Celsius, and Silvergate has raised concerns about the stability and sustainability of the stablecoin ecosystem.

The value of stablecoins like USDC depends on the stability and viability of the banking system that supports them, despite being designed for stability.

As the crypto industry grows and evolves, stablecoins are likely to play an increasingly important role. Stablecoins need stable and reliable banking institutions to back them if they are to achieve mainstream acceptance.

To conclude, some experts believe that there may be more banks in trouble. And that the crypto industry as a whole may need to reevaluate its approach to regulation. The industry is traditionally characterized by a libertarian spirit and a resistance to regulation. However, it is clear that regulatory compliance is necessary for your long-term success.

The collapse of stock markets and banks highlights the need for tighter regulation. The industry should reevaluate its strategy as more institutions face regulatory scrutiny.

Achieving widespread acceptance and stability of cryptocurrencies will require significant progress in both regulation and compliance.

XRP Targets less than $0.35 in US Banking Issues, USDC & SEC vs. Ripple Silence

0

On Saturday, XRP bucked the general market trend, falling 1.24% to end the day at $0.36655. Silicon Valley Bank’s woes, as well as USD decoupling, led to a mixed XRP session, allowing investors to profit. Technical indicators remained bearish, signaling a return to below $0.35.

On Saturday, XRP fell 1.24%. Following a 0.02% loss on Friday, XRP ended the day at $0.36655. Significantly, XRP extended its losing streak to three sessions, and it avoided below $0.36.

A bullish start to the day saw XRP rally to an early high of $0.37718, before turning back. Failing to reach the first major resistance level (R1) at $0.3781, XRP fell to an early afternoon low of $0.36092. However, finding support at the first major support level (S1) at $0.3608, XRP revisited the $0.367 level, before pulling back.

SEC vs. Ripple Silence Leaves Silicon Valley Bank and USD Coin in Focus

It was another quiet session on Saturday. There were no updates on the SEC vs. Ripple to distract investors from the new US banking crisis and the decoupling of the USD Coin (USDC).

XRP had enjoyed a bullish first half of the week due to investor hopes of a Ripple victory in the ongoing case between the SEC and Ripple. The Court’s recent rulings tipped the balance in favor of the Defendants, with the Hinman Documents providing another headache for the SEC.

As investors await rulings related to the Hinman documents and summary judgment response summaries, US banking sector woes and crypto market contagion risk likely led investors to take gains for the week.

Updates on SVB Financial Group (SIVB) continue to test investor sentiment, with USD Coin unpegging another bearish crypto event.

News from Reaper Financial converting USD Coin holdings into XRP provided no price support. However, the decision to convert to XRP instead of other cryptocurrencies to ensure stability was material.

XRP Price Action – Technical Indicators

A mixed start to the day saw XRP rally to an early high of $0.36800 before falling to a low of $0.36534.

XRP needs to move through the $0.3682 pivot to target the first major resistance level (R1) at $0.3755. A move through Saturday’s high of $0.37718 would signal a bullish session. However, the broader crypto market and SEC vs. Ripple talk would need to support a breakout.

In the event of a prolonged rally, XRP would likely test the second major resistance level (R2) at $0.3845, and resistance at $0.39. The third main resistance level (R3) sits at $0.4007.

The 50-day EMA has pulled back from the 100-day EMA, with the 100-day EMA pulling back from the 200-day EMA. The signals were bearish.

A move through the 50-day EMA ($0.37392) would support a break of R1 ($0.3755) and the 100-day EMA ($0.37703) to reveal the 200-day EMA ($0.38119) and R2 ($0.3845). However, a failure to move through the 50-day EMA ($0.37392) would leave S1 ($0.3593) in play.

Axie Infinity (AXS) Developers Rumored to Advice on Avorak Crypto Project

0

A closer look at the history of Axie Infinity is provided, as well as a prediction of its price. Rumors surrounding the developers and their alleged involvement in Avorak AI are also discussed.

Cryptocurrency has been a hot topic lately, and one of the most talked about names in the industry is Axie Infinity. Recently, rumors have been circulating that the developers of Axie Infinity are advising on another crypto project called Avorak AI.

Axie Infinity (AXS) is a Blockchain-based game that has been quite popular since its inception in 2021. The game allows players to collect, breed, and battle creatures called Axies, which are unique and are represented as non-fungible tokens (NFTs), meaning they cannot be replicated or replaced but can be publicly traded. The game has gained a large following and the rare Axies have become highly sought after.

Since then, the game has become a huge success, with over 1 million daily active users (DAUs) and $1 billion in transaction volume. The game has also attracted investment from major players in the industry, including Mark Cuban and Delphi Digital.

Axie Infinity Price Prediction

The AXS coin price has been trading in a channel between $9 and $12 for the past few months, with many investors wondering when the price will finally break higher. While it is impossible to predict the future with certainty, there are some indicators that suggest that the accumulation phase is coming to an end.

One of the main factors driving the price of the AXS coin is the general market sentiment and the price of Bitcoin. Analysts suggest that with inflation at its peak, the bear market is coming to an end, and we are entering the post-bear phase with a slow but steady move higher.

The analysts’ median price target is $28.49 by 2025. However, these are conservative expectations that can easily be crushed in a bull market.

Swirling Rumors: AXS Devs Advising Avorak AI

Recently, rumors have been circulating that the developers of Axie Infinity are advising on another crypto project called Avorak AI. The project is still in its ICO phase and is selling out fast. However, rumors suggest that the Axie Infinity developers are advising the Avorak team to develop an AI-based platform.

If the rumors are true, this could be a significant development for both Axie Infinity and Avorak IA. Axie Infinity has proven to be a successful game and the involvement of its developers could give credibility to the Avorak project.

However, it is important to note that these rumors have not been confirmed. It is possible that they are simply speculation or misinformation. Until there is an official announcement from the developers of Axie Infinity or Avorak AI, it is a challenge to know what involvement the Axie Infinity team has in the project.

In short, rumors have been circulating that the developers of Axie Infinity are consulting on the Avorak AI project to develop their platform. While these rumors have not been confirmed, they could have significant implications for both Axie Infinity and Avorak AI.

If the rumors are true, it would be wise to invest in the ongoing Avorak AI pre-sale and benefit from the low price and additional bonus tokens for early investors.
