Analysis of the XRP Price Drop and Ripple Opportunities in Europe

0

The recent XRP price drop and its causes are analyzed, Ripple’s expansion into the European market is explored, and strategic partnerships are discussed, as well as the regulatory landscape.

Ripple is a real-time money transfer, currency exchange, and cryptocurrency gross settlement network created by American technology company Ripple Labs Inc., which describes the XRP cryptocurrency as “a digital asset built for global payments.”

The recent fall in the price of XRP has attracted the attention of investors and analysts alike, raising questions about the future of Ripple and its native cryptocurrency.

There are key factors behind Ripple’s price volatility and growth prospects in the European market, which may shed light on the potential for Ripple’s continued success, despite near-term market turmoil.

XRP Price Volatility

XRP, like other cryptocurrencies, has experienced significant price fluctuations in recent days. The recent fall in the price of XRP can be attributed to factors such as low trading volumes in the cryptocurrency market, as well as regulatory pressure.

The increasing regulatory pressure in the crypto market has caused trading volumes on the world’s largest exchange, Binance, to correspond to a bear market.

The XRP price has also been affected by the prevailing bearish sentiment in the broader market, which has been fueled by regulatory ambiguity following the inability of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chairman to address inquiries. congressional.

As SEC Chairman Gary Gensler leaves the cryptocurrency community insecure, Ripple is actively seeking opportunities beyond its current landscape.

Ripple Growth in the European Narket

Europe represents a huge market opportunity for Ripple, with a growing number of financial institutions adopting its technology. Some factors contributing to Ripple’s growth in Europe include the region’s progressive regulatory environment, high demand for cross-border payment solutions, and strategic alliances with key financial players.

The European Union (EU) has been proactive in developing a comprehensive regulatory framework for digital assets, such as the regulation of the Crypto Asset Markets (MiCA), which aims to establish a legal framework for digital assets within the EU, and the European Central Bank’s (ECB) exploration of a digital euro may further pave the way for digital asset adoption. Such regulatory developments provide a supportive environment for Ripple to grow and expand its services in the European market.

Ripple’s success in Europe can be attributed to Ripple’s strategic partnerships with leading financial institutions and technology providers, some notable collaborations being, among others, Santander, one of the largest banks in Europe, uses Ripple technology for its international payment services; Finastra, a Swiss-based global financial technology company, integrates Ripple’s Blockchain technology into its solutions; and Currencycloud, a UK-based payment platform, partners with Ripple to improve cross-border transactions.

Considering the aforementioned factors, Ripple can capitalize on the potential of the European market, facing the challenges that the volatility of XRP prices poses in the short term.

Future Outlook for XRP and Ripple

Despite the recent fall in the price of XRP, XRP, and Ripple have a promising future in the European market, due to factors such as continuous technological innovation and development, the increasing adoption of Ripple payment solutions by institutions’ finances, as well as a favorable regulatory landscape in Europe and strategic alliances with industry leaders.

These factors collectively contribute to a strong foundation for sustained growth and the potential for Ripple to overcome market volatility in the short term.

Bitcoin Traders Call for Calm as BTC Price Falls 10% in a Week

Commentaries state that Bitcoin is experiencing a “logical and healthy” correction and that USD 25,000 is now a key price line for BTC.

Bitcoin just held USD 27,000 on April 22nd, as another round of losses left bulls with little firepower; this is shown on a 1-hour candlestick chart for the BTC/USD (Bitstamp) pair published by TradingView.

Bitcoin Bulls Retest Giant RSI Support

Information from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView showed that the BTC/USD pair barely preserved the USD 27,000 mark the day after Wall Street’s stock market week ended on a sour note.

In contrast to US equities, which managed to seal modest gains on the day, Bitcoin continued to suffer as analysts warned of a return to nearly USD 25,000.

Thus, the BTC/USD pair was down 10% on the week and 4% in April, according to Coinglass data, within a dramatic turnaround in fortunes from the first quarter, evidenced by the monthly Bitcoin return chart published by Coinglass.

However, for popular trader Credible Crypto, there was still plenty of reason to expect the long-term uptrend to remain intact.

He insisted in part of his latest Twitter commentary that “If your macro thesis on Bitcoin has changed due to a USD 2,000 pullback after a USD 10,000+ vertical rally from 19k to 30k+ you’re doing it wrong.”

In an additional post, he argued that such price action was “common” in cryptocurrency markets.

“The last major retest was at 19k before our rally to 30k+. A 25k retest here would be logical and healthy,” he stated, according to an annotated BTC/USD chart on his Credible Cryptocurrency Twitter account.

Cryptocurrency analyst CryptoCon brought similar conclusions based on recent moves in Bitcoin’s relative strength index (RSI).

He indicated that the RSI has been used to determine overbought and oversold conditions at certain price points, so it can help offer insights into upcoming price trends.

On the other hand, he revealed that comparing the latest action to previous halving cycles, “Bitcoin’s short-term price action looks grim, but in the background, the weekly RSI has broken a 6-year downtrend and is now trying to make support.”

He pointed out that Bitcoin is now at the decision point and posed the following question: should Bitcoin continue the 2019 parabolic price action or take 2015 healthier, steadier approach?, this can be observed in the annotated BTC/USD chart with RSI posted by CryptoCon on his Twitter account

BTC Price Analyst Expects “Stronger Buying Interest” near USD 25,000

Meanwhile, trader Skew delved into possible short-term price targets for BTC/USD, focusing on the moving averages (MA).

The area north of USD 25,000 remained the main point of interest, with the 200-week MA residing at USD 25,850.

The market composition remained apt for liquidating traders, according to data provided by Coinglass, April 22 cost another USD 173 million long cryptocurrencies.

As reported by Cointelegraph, April 19 had seen the highest amount of long settlements of 2023 so far, which can be seen in the cryptocurrency settlements chart published by Coinglass.

Cryptocurrencies: An Alternative that Threatens the Current Economic and Political Order

As a means of exchange and store of value, cryptocurrencies are becoming increasingly important. States and financial organizations seek to stop its progress.

One of the most forceful forms of construction of hegemony is economic. In this sense, the United States currency is used globally between transactions from other countries. In addition, this nation has a majority vote in the International Monetary Fund and is one of the main shareholders of the World Bank.

However, in a context where China and its currency, the Yuan, want to make a place for themselves, the US has to deal with another contender: cryptocurrencies. Although there are different strategies, the only country that recognizes Bitcoin is El Salvador. Some territories created their digital currencies, while organizations such as the IMF try to maintain the dominance of the dollar as the world’s currency.

Unlike traditional currencies, cryptocurrencies are beyond the control of national and international powers. For today’s monetary system, the growth of crypto is a danger because it is basically beyond their control.

Lawless Cryptocurrencies

“Everything they say about Bitcoin is because they can’t handle it,” says Gabriel Balbo, an analyst at International Economic Relations, Technology, and Geopolitics. The global economic crises generated distrust in the traditional currencies of each country and in international financial organizations.

Given said scenario, cryptocurrencies made a place as an alternative, constituting themselves as a means of exchange and as a store of value. By not having intermediaries or classic regulatory bodies, cryptocurrencies could be defined as anarchic.

In today’s financial system, there is something called the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (Swift), a kind of connector between different international banks, in order to send and receive money on a global scale.

If the pace of cryptocurrency transactions continues its skyrocketing climb, it could wipe out Swift, and with it, the ability of some countries to lobby others. In the framework of the conflict with Ukraine, the main members of Swift partially expelled Russia from this financial system.

The Future of Crypto

One of the main objections of international financial organizations is that crypto can be used to launder illicit money and evade sanctions such as those imposed on Russia and that other countries in Latin America and the Caribbean also suffer.

For Balbo, cryptocurrencies are going to coexist with the dollar, unless the big banks get involved and regulate them. However, countries are not going to let this system grow because they lose interference in the currency.

Meanwhile, there are already state initiatives that have created or plan to create digital currencies to combat cryptocurrencies, which are or will be under the control of the central bank, or the corresponding monetary authority. For example, in March 2021, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank launched “DCash” in Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Lucia.

Earlier, in October 2020 the Central Bank of the Bahamas issued the “sand dollar”, the first national digital currency in history. Following these steps, the People’s Bank of China and the European Central Bank are studying the creation of their own currencies.

Top Crypto News of the Week

The five most important pieces of news related to Bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency market are reviewed.

This week, in terms of cryptos and markets, very important news emerged, such as the legal actions that Michael Schumacher’s family plans, based on a false interview conducted with Artificial Intelligence. Also, electric vehicles will now be able to use Bitcoin. There is a rumor that Binance.US may possibly buy Voyager. To finish, the European Parliament approves the MiCA Law, and Coinbase obtains a license to operate in Bermuda.

Details are provided below.

Michael Schumacher’s Family Plans Legal Action for A Fake Interview Conducted with Artificial Intelligence

To kick off, on April 14, German magazine Die Aktuelle promised “the first interview!” with Michael Schumacher since he suffered a serious brain injury in a skiing accident in 2013.

Interestingly, although on the cover the magazine added the phrase “sounds deceptively real”, the article contained a series of alleged quotes that were generated by AI, which was not revealed until the end of the article, much to the chagrin of many fans.

As a consequence, Michael Schumacher’s family plans a lawsuit against the magazine “Die Aktuelle” for the publication of an alleged interview with the seven-time Formula 1 world champion with responses generated by an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system.

Electric Vehicles Can Use Bitcoin

In contrast, with an app, electric vehicles around the world can use Bitcoin for their charges. This is Strom, an app that looks for billing point providers to receive immediate payments in cryptocurrencies. Strom is an open-source application still under development by the Satimoto company.

Specifically, according to their technical documentation, the app can be run locally, on the charging station, or an external service can be used to host and run the app online.

Will Binance.US Buy Voyager?

On April 19, bankrupt crypto lender Voyager Digital Holdings reached an agreement with the United States federal government that would allow the firm to sell its assets to Binance.US.

In fact, Voyager’s Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors (UCC) indicated that: “Voyager, the UCC, and the Government reached a resolution that will allow the plan to move forward and enter into force shortly.”

According to Reuters, Voyager’s lawyer, Joshua Sussberg, explained that the transaction with Binance includes a $20 million cash payment, as well as the agreement to move Voyager client wallets to Binance.US.

European Parliament Approves the MiCA Law

With the approval of this law, the European Union will be able to regulate the cryptocurrency industry, thus joining the regional bloc’s fight against money laundering and terrorist financing.

The virtual asset market law establishes the bases for the responsible development of the cryptocurrency industry in Europe, with the purpose of providing clear rules for participating companies, as well as guaranteeing the safety and protection of investors and consumers.

Coinbase Obtains License to Operate in Bermuda

As a final point, Coinbase has obtained a license from the Bermuda Monetary Authority, which allows it to operate there as a digital asset company. It is also in talks with Abu Dhabi financial regulators about a possible license.

With all this, the Class F license granted under the Digital Assets Business Law allows Coinbase to carry out a wide range of activities, such as the sale and issuance of tokens. According to a Forbes report on April 19, Coinbase is planning to launch a derivatives exchange in Bermuda as early as next week.

Earth Day: Bitcoin Mining and Sustainable Development, Possibility or Oxymoron?

0

The Bitcoin mining process requires a lot of energy and, as a result, it has raised concerns about its environmental impact. In recent years there has been a growing interest in using renewable energy sources to power Bitcoin mining operations.

Bitcoin mining consists of verifying and adding transactions to the Blockchain of the public Bitcoin network. This process is in charge of the miners. who with powerful computers, perform complex calculations to solve math problems and, in return, are rewarded with newly created BTC.

The vast majority of Bitcoin mining is done using specialized hardware that requires a significant amount of electricity to run, which is obtained from non-renewable sources such as coal or natural gas, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions. and other forms of environmental pollution.

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in using renewable energy sources to power Bitcoin mining operations, such as hydroelectric or solar power, in order to reduce their carbon footprint. In addition, new mining hardware is being designed to be more energy efficient, which could reduce the overall power consumption of the Bitcoin network.

Another environmental concern related to Bitcoin mining is electronic waste. The mining hardware used for BTC mining typically has a short lifespan due to the rapid pace of technological advancements. By becoming obsolete, hardware often ends up in landfills, which can pose environmental risks.

In general, the relationship between Bitcoin mining and the environment is complex. While Bitcoin mining requires a significant amount of energy, efforts are underway to reduce its environmental impact.

Bitcoin Mining Benefits

In general, the benefits of Bitcoin mining are largely financial. By providing incentives for network security, facilitating transaction processing, generating revenue, stabilizing prices, and driving innovation.

Regarding the association between Bitcoin mining and environmental issues, which sometimes seems like an oxymoron, the PwC consultancy, in a study entitled “Bitcoin mining as an ESG strategy”, concludes the following:

“The electricity consumption of bitcoin mining demands new approaches to the use of energy resources. Based on the hypothesis that Bitcoin is here to stay, we believe it is worth discussing how Bitcoin mining can support the transition towards a more sustainable future and economic model and how an ESG strategy of building renewable energy plants for the purpose of mining Bitcoins could have positive environmental results.”

Demystifying BTC Mining to Drive It Towards a Sustainable Development Framework

Many of Bitcoin’s detractors allude to the fact that it is an environmental burden and cannot contribute to sustainable development. Others even go so far as to claim that the Bitcoin maximalists are some kind of “reactionary” initiative and that they are a misguided minority even within the Blockchain ecosystem itself.

Regardless of the degree of truth or falsehood of these statements, the fanaticism for and against BTC, and a whole series of conspiracy theories, the truth is that if Bitcoin mining is evaluated from an economic point of view, it can be evidenced that it is nothing more than a particular market that can easily be integrated into the general economic system if demand so requires.

From this point of view, BTC mining is a common economic activity, which currently operates in a market with little participation in the financial sector. Nevertheless, there is a growing demand, and in the future, its market niche is expected to be much stronger.

Bitcoin Price Fall: What are the Reasons for BTC Weakening?

The Bitcoin course could no longer continue its upward trend in recent days and fell again more strongly.

The Bitcoin rate has seen a stronger decline for a long time. After the BTC price broke above the important $30,000 mark for the last time, the price has dipped back below the $29,000 mark in recent days.

With a 6% loss in the last 7 days, Bitcoin has suffered a major setback for the first time since the start of the US banking crisis in early March. However, the price of Bitcoin is up more than 90% since the beginning of the year.

Reasons for the Sharp Drop in Bitcoin Price

The crypto market is characterized by its high volatility, with rises and falls in a matter of hours or minutes.

The Bitcoin price crash had no clear isolated trigger. It appears to be a slight correction after steady growth since March. However, there are some factors that could affect the Bitcoin price drop, explained below.

First, the vote on the EU MiCa regulation. which took place yesterday, Thursday, in the EU Parliament, where the regulation was decided. With MiCa, there will be numerous bureaucratic hurdles for cryptocurrency providers from 2024.

Second, the plans of the US Federal Reserve to determine the direction of the key interest rate for the US dollar at the next meeting. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell recently said he thinks further interest rate hikes are appropriate. Most observers expect a 0.25 percentage point rise, making the crypto market slightly bearish.

The US government has seized a large amount of Bitcoins from illegal activities and plans to sell them in four different batches before the end of this year. The first sale is scheduled for May 26, which could put selling pressure on BTC. However, investors could use this opportunity to buy Bitcoins at a lower price and benefit from the price increase in the future.

Will There Be a Move Towards $36,000 Soon?

The setback for Bitcoin’s course is no reason to panic just yet. In the medium term, the price of Bitcoin remains in a bullish channel. The $28,000 level has been established as extremely strong support, and the next break could see a rally toward the $36,000 target.

If the Fed’s interest rate policy sees a trend reversal in the coming months, which seems likely if the key interest rate for the US dollar were to rise via dollar inflation, Bitcoin’s price would benefit greatly. In the Bitcoin summer forecast, even $50,000 is possible.

Technical BTC Analysis

According to the analysis published by Ripio Select! the price of Bitcoin continues with strong sellers and is heading to reach support in the price ranges of US$28,100 and US$27,820.

If Bitcoin manages to overcome the mentioned support, the next medium-term objective could be the price range of US$27,000, since this is strong support and cannot be broken; otherwise, there will be a liquidity vacuum that could lead to further falls. Resistance points are between $30,030 and $30,400.

Based on the Live Coin Watch portal, Bitcoin (BTC) is trading today, April 21, at US$28,251.39, positioning 98% compared to its value 24 hours ago, and 92% compared to the same day last week.
