Province of La Rioja in Argentina Gives Green Light to its Own Digital Currency

Province of La Rioja, Argentina, takes a step towards the future with its own digital currency

Province of La Rioja, located in the northeast of Argentina, has taken the initiative to approve and launch its own digital currency, thus becoming one of the first Argentine provinces to adopt this technology.

Indeed, with the objective of covering a part of the salaries of local public employees, the Legislature of La Rioja approved by an absolute majority the project promoted by Governor Ricardo Quintela. For the issuance of a quasi-currency called Debt Cancellation Bonus (BOCADE), which will bear the name “El Chacho” in honor of the leader Ángel Vicente Peñaloza.

The president himself even celebrated the creation of that money, who described the appearance of provincial quasi-currencies as an achievement:

“To think that during the campaign they treated me like a crazy person for postulating a scheme in which there was free currency competition and now they are promoting it…!!!”

Vice Governor Teresita Madera explained that this initiative seeks to provide support to the workers’ economy and sustain local commerce, especially in view of the distressing situation generated by the economic policies implemented by the National Government. The new digital currency is presented as an alternative that will strengthen the economic fabric of the province and offer greater stability to the community.

According to the information published by the Legislature of the aforementioned province, the new currency consists of public debt securities that are placed into circulation to be used as a means of payment.

The Province of La Rioja Launches its Own Digital Currency

At the request of Governor Ricardo Quintela, the Legislature of La Rioja approved a project to issue 22.5 billion pesos of Debt Cancellation Bonds. That is, from now on, there will be transactions that can be carried out with a quasi-currency of provincial jurisdiction.

“We want to increase salaries and we need them to send the funds that correspond to the people of La Rioja. The workers were left well below inflation, causing a strong loss of purchasing power.”

After learning of the project of the governor of La Rioja, Ricardo Quintela, to create its own currency, the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, was in favor of the plan. Although he warned that there could be a “loss of income.”

How Does Alternative Currency Work?

The recently approved law establishes that the Government of La Rioja must reach an agreement with Banco Rioja or other local banking institutions to determine the form and modality of accreditation of BOCADE in checking accounts, savings accounts or other bank deposit methods. Although the law does not specify whether the bonds will be physical or digital, it is expected that a modality will be used that facilitates their use and circulation.

Under this law, the provincial State undertakes to pay 30% of the salaries of state employees using the BOCADE. These bonds will be accepted by state entities, municipalities, companies and decentralized entities, as a form of payment for the total or partial cancellation of their monetary credits.

Finally, with this measure, La Rioja seeks to promote the local economy, promote financial inclusion and strengthen its economic autonomy. The new digital currency will allow residents of the province to carry out transactions more efficiently and safely, in addition to promoting the development of local projects and ventures.

Bitcoin Advocate Predicts Bitcoin to Hit $1 Million in Days or Weeks

Jan3 CEO Samson Mow commented on the reason for Bitcoin’s recent crash, stating that the market was simply adjusting.

Well-known Bitcoin supporter Samson Mow is bullish on the cryptocurrency. He believes it will soon reach $1 million in value. Meanwhile, Pullix, a completely new DeFi project, has been causing a stir in the cryptocurrency world. With its pre-sale sold out, the upcoming hybrid exchange platform has attracted a lot of attention.

Bitcoin (BTC) Will Reach $1 Million When Demand Outstrips Supply

Samson Mow, CEO of Jan3 and Bitcoiner, noted in an X post that Bitcoin (BTC) will reach $1 million in “days or weeks.” He went on to say that the starting point of this rapid rise has not yet been determined.

The analyst’s bullish forecast for Bitcoin stems from his belief in maximum pain theory, a term that describes a Bitcoin price at which most options traders would experience their biggest loss. Mow claims that since the Bitcoin spot ETFs were approved, the bulls have incurred this loss and the bears could experience some pain soon.

Regarding the Bitcoin market, Mow noted that we may soon be in a situation where supply exceeds demand. Additionally, he mentioned the impending Bitcoin halving, speculating that it would serve as a catalyst for a sharp rise in the cryptocurrency’s value.

Mow was confident in Bitcoin’s upward direction and had previously projected that it would reach a new peak before the Halving. Currently, Bitcoin price is hovering between $41,753.68/$48,494.62 after an 8.5% price drop last week.

Pullix (PLX) Presale Sells Out Quickly

Pullix (PLX) is one of the top DeFi projects that has surprised the crypto space lately. The project skyrocketed 100% from $0.04 to a current price of $0.08 in less than a month. Top analysts have analyzed the project and believe that it has the potential to join the top 10 altcoins.

Pullix is an upcoming trading platform that will connect decentralized and centralized exchanges. It seeks to offer the best of both worlds. Pullix will offer a comprehensive and easy-to-use solution for all sectors.

In addition to existing features, Pullix will introduce Yield Farming. This would allow users to earn Pullix’s PLX by staking the DeFi token. Every transaction on the Pullix Swap exchange comes with a modest 0.25% fee. This fee is collected and converted into LP tokens that are added to the Pullix pool. The collected LP tokens are later redeemed for PLX. This PLX is then distributed evenly among all Pullix LP holders in the group. Through capital gains, this procedure not only increases the value of your holdings but also ensures a steady stream of passive income.

Pullix is now valued at $0.08 and is in the sixth stage of its pre-sale. It could join the top 10 altcoins months after its inception and perhaps cross the $1 mark.

Concluding Remarks

All in all, with a maximum price of less than $70,000 and not even up to $100,000, the chances of Bitcoin reaching $1 million seem very unlikely in the coming weeks. Furthermore, Bitcoin’s market capitalization must reach trillions or more.

Meanwhile, it seems possible that the Pullix DeFi token will rise by 1,150% to $1. The token’s low market cap, coupled with its innovative features, gives PLX the potential for a massive surge in 2024.

Cryptocurrencies, What Is Known About the HyperVerse Movie Scam

Investors lost $1.3 billion when the company collapsed and its founders fled.

The CEO of HyperVerse was caught in Thailand after escaping with at least $1.3 billion that thousands of small savers were convinced they had invested in cryptocurrencies.

The latest news about the HyperVerse scam risks damaging the trust people have in cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin precisely in the momentous days when the (grudging) go-ahead from the SEC finally allows them to be bought on Wall Street as common stocks or traditional funds.

The only thing that is cryptographic, or rather, cryptic, is the HyperVerse affair is the way in which a scam of still undefined contours was managed – Chainalysis estimates the stolen amount at $1.3 billion in 2022 alone – to the detriment of thousands and thousands of small savers.

Max Hyperverse Scam

A very un-4.0 and high-tech scam, which as the hours go by seems designed according to the traditional Ponzi scheme, where the only certainty is that those responsible have disappeared with the savings of those who wanted to create savings.

The HyperVerse name began to recover immediately after the pandemic, when cryptocurrencies experienced a second youth. At first it seemed like the umpteenth decadence of an already widely dissected concept, but whoever organized the project for marketing purposes merged the possibility of getting rich by investing in virtual currencies with the narrative of a metaverse in which, sooner or later, everyone ends up living.

HyperVerse will not be the first or the last scam created on the Web. What sets it apart, however, is its clever storytelling, because to make it credible, whoever planned it not only hired at a certain time Chuck Norris, the Walker Texas Ranger who captivated millions of Voghera housewives around the world, but also outlined the charismatic figure of a magnetic CEO and lovely: Reece Lewis.

He looks like the classic American white collar: clean face, tidy hair and nice suit. A Michael Gary Scott for The Office who really made it and knows what he’s talking about, so overwhelming that he has become a guru, a teacher of life. A little bit of Steve Jobs with advice not only on how to invest but also on how to live better. After all, Lewis had a career that began at Goldman Sachs, then his first startup sold to Adobe and finally his arrival, since 2016, in Blockchain technology as a pioneer.

Did the CEO of HyperVerse Ever Exist?

The problem is that just as Michael Scott was actually an empty simulacrum, filled with the acting ability and extraordinary facial expressions of Steve Carell, in the same way Reece Lewis was the creation of a good screenwriter and the acting ability of whoever played him.

According to an investigation carried out by the British media The Guardian, Adobe “has never recorded the acquisition of a company owned by Steven Reece Lewis in any of its public documents before the SEC” and “Goldman Sachs does not find any reference to whether Reece Lewis worked for the company.”

What Will Happen to AI and Deepfakes?

In the age of deepfakes and artificial intelligence that allow even pimply children to create incredibly realistic videos, the artisanal nature of this mega scam dating back just a couple of years is surprising and perhaps somewhat reassuring. Meanwhile, the world has changed again, not for the better, and new technologies will allow anyone to create even more credible movie scams, and the scam that no longer smells rotten underneath is very scary.

Crypto Market Prediction 2024: Here’s When Bitcoin Price Will Hit ATH Driving a 100x Altcoin Rally

According to Lady of Crypto, November 2024 is the likely time for the next big peak for Bitcoin.

Renowned crypto investor Lady of Crypt has made bold predictions about the world of cryptocurrencies. She believes that Bitcoin will reach its next high in November 2024. Additionally, she believes that new altcoins, which could generate huge gains (up to 100 times their value), will appear between January and July 2024.

Next Bull Run

In a recent thread on X, Lady of Crypto shared some important predictions, based on her insights into crypto patterns, historical performance, and key events that influence these forecasts.

Yesterday, Lady of Crypto posted the following on X:

“When will Bitcoin break its ATH? November 2024

When will the bull run end? September 2025

When will most of the new 100x alts be released? Jan-July 2024

Why do I think this? I’ll show you below.”

While examining historical bull runs, Lady of Crypto observes a notable pattern. In 2017 and 2021, the peak of the bull market occurred exactly 29 months before the halving, and it looks like this could continue to happen.

There is a twist, though. The last three times, the lockdowns lasted 9, 9 and 11 months each. Although this time it could last longer, Lady of Crypto thinks it will likely peak around September 2025, aiming for a window of 9 to 11 months.

When BTC Will Reach ATH

Drawing parallels to the last two Bitcoin cycles, Lady of Crypto predicts that Bitcoin will hit a new all-time high about 7-8 months after the halving. Meanwhile, some people thought that a special investment called an ETF would make Bitcoin quickly jump to $100,000, but Lady of Crypto believes it will take a little more time. She sees November 2024 as the likely time for the next big peak for Bitcoin.

Additionally, Lady of Crypto recommends caution when choosing altcoins, emphasizing that cycle-defining projects are often launched a few months before and after the halving. The current period, he claims, marks the golden phase for project launches, with cryptocurrencies expected to melt between January and July 2024.

Strategic Investment Approach

Lady of Crypto further explains the following on X:

“In the last two cycles, Bitcoin broke its all-time high 7 and then 8 months after the halving. The ETF has so far not propelled BTC to 100k overnight as many assumed. I think that like the last two time, it will be 7-8 months, so, November 2024!”

“The last three bull runs lasted 9, 9 and 11 months respectively. This one could be longer but I think 9-11 months is a good target to keep in mind. I think the next run peaks around September 2025 give or take a month. Let’s talk profit-taking.”

“I’ll take partial profit slowly the whole run up. I believe that if you’re up big you should 5%-10% out to secure profit. A lot of people say “Don’t sell strength”… meh. In crypto things can go from strong to dead in hours.”

Detailing her investment strategy, Lady of Crypto plans to make profits from altcoins that experience significant rises. As the market approaches September 2025, she intends to increase profit taking, moving some funds out of cryptocurrencies and reinvesting the rest in new projects with greater growth potential.

Will X Unleash the Doge? Users Eager to Adopt Memecoin

The community’s interest in integrating Dogecoin (DOGE) into the payments and tipping platform is evident, reflecting the desire to move away from traditional fiat currencies.

DOGE (Dogecoin), the internet meme-driven cryptocurrency, is gaining attention on Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter), as evidenced by a survey by a leading Doge account.

Elon Musk has been a strong supporter of Dogecoin, praising its transaction speed and suitability compared to Bitcoin. Although there is no official confirmation, speculation is increasing following X’s acquisition of money transfer licenses in several US states.

Doge In X: Regulatory Challenges

Musk envisions transforming X into an “everything app” with a robust trading engine, and Dogecoin could play an important role in this vision.

However, there are obstacles to the possible integration of Dogecoin into the platform. Regulatory approvals for the acquired money transfer licenses are anticipated by mid-2024, posing a potential challenge to Musk’s ambitious timeline.

Furthermore, the technical details and integration methods for DOGE payments remain undisclosed. Recently, DOGE was trading at $0.0802, down 1.2% and 4.4% in the last 24 hours and seven days, Coingecko data shows.

Despite these uncertainties, the Doge community is actively preparing. Large transactions involving millions of DOGE tokens suggest anticipation of a possible surge in demand. The enthusiasm within the X community, evident in tweets and discussions, is noteworthy.

This week alone, almost a billion DOGE changed hands. An unidentified buyer removed 67,903,623 Dogecoin from popular brokerage platform Robinhood over the past 24 hours, according to blockchain sleuth Whale Alert.

The same source had reported earlier this week of a substantially larger amount of these meme coins being transferred: 990,000,000 DOGEs, which was valued at $79,757,842 when the transaction was made.

The ability to make payments with Dogecoin on X has the potential to bring about significant changes, not only for X but also for the broader online payments landscape.

Dogecoin (DOGE): Original Memecoin Gains New Momentum

The long-term prospects for Dogecoin look even more promising, with expectations of reclaiming its all-time high of $0.7376 and possibly surpassing the $1 mark this year. This speculation is reinforced by Dogecoin’s positioning as a decentralized peer-to-peer payment network with low fees, providing a viable alternative to traditional banking systems, especially amid the current financial uncertainties.

However, it is important to consider the inherently speculative nature of the cryptocurrency market. Future Dogecoin price movements will largely depend on market sentiment, adoption rates, and the influence of prominent figures like Elon Musk.

Doge Challenges: Volatility, Community Transition

Imagining the ability to tip content creators or settle bills with Shiba Inu digital coins adds an element of fun and community to online transactions, challenging the dominance of traditional payment providers.

However, the challenges go beyond regulatory approval. The inherent volatility of cryptocurrency markets, exemplified by Doge’s recent price drop, raises concerns. Integrating a meme-based currency into a major platform means cautiously navigating potential financial risks and bubbles.

The future remains uncertain as to Doge becoming the official currency of the X “apps for everything” ecosystem. One undeniable fact is the willingness of the Doge community to abandon fiat, visualizing a future where smiles digital Shiba Inu replace conventional coins.

The extent to which this revolution translates into widespread adoption and lasting impact remains to be seen. Regardless, the Dogecoin narrative is evolving and promises an intriguing journey shaped by memes, speculation, and Musk’s unpredictable nature.

US Federal Judge Presses SEC to Explain its Definition of “Securities”

The exchanges of accusations between the SEC and Coinbase continue. Federal Judge Katherine Polk Failla said she was concerned about the term “securities” and urged the SEC to “expand the definition of a security.” The cryptocurrency ecosystem has complained that the Securities Law dates back to 1933, which would be insufficient to define a “value.”

In the latest hearing between the Coinbase exchange and a federal judge in New York, the latter urged the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to once again clarify its definition of securities.

Federal Judge Katherine Polk Failla held private meetings with Coinbase and representatives of the SEC, with whom she emphasized the legal precedents to define a value, as well as the taxes that cryptocurrencies traded on exchanges must have.

Coinbase Case: US Federal Judge Asks the SEC to Expand Definition of “Security”

Coinbase continues its legal battle to try to dismiss the lawsuit filed by the SEC, which has argued for months that the exchange is violating securities laws. The federal judge is still “weighing” some questions for the regulator.

Last December, Coinbase sued the SEC over its refusal to disclose its actions for clearer regulation of cryptocurrencies. Coinbase Chief Legal Officer (CLO), Paul Grewal, has accused the SEC of “capricious” behavior and unlawful abuse of discretion in violating the Administrative Procedure Act.

The judge would have questioned the following from the SEC: “I am concerned… that what they are asking is to expand the definition of what constitutes a security.”

According to Reuters, the SEC until before Gary Gensler had only focused on companies that sold digital tokens, but now it does so with companies that offer commercial trading platforms and clearing activities that act similar to stockbrokers.

Coinbase Could End the SEC’s War on Exchanges

However, the ecosystem has accused that the Securities Law dates back to 1933, which would be insufficient to define a “value.” For its part, Coinbase has argued that cryptocurrencies, unlike stocks, do not meet the definition of an “investment contract.”

Yesterday, Grewal posted the following on X:

“Today we made arguments in our motion to bounce the SEC’s suit against Coinbase. After hours and hours, this much remain clear:  the SEC continues to claim broad authority over all investments while offering no limiting principle to its definition of investment contract.”

For the SEC, cryptocurrency buyers were purchasing the tokens as investments similar to stocks or bonds, while Coinbase has maintained that buyers were not signing contracts that gave them the right to the income of a publicly traded company.

Last year, the SEC sued Coinbase and Binance for regulatory violations and acting as unregistered brokers, in addition to having “securities” listed. Since then, the regulator believes that Coinbase’s flagship services (main brokerage, exchange and staking programs) violate securities regulations.

Coinbase Insists on Dismissing SEC Lawsuit

Coinbase lawyer William Savitt said: “I’ll tell you this: I think it would have been a huge surprise to find out that an investment contract had nothing to do with a contract.”

Among the cryptocurrencies declared as securities by the SEC, the following stand out: Ripple (XRP), Telegram Gram (TON), LBRY Credits (LBC), OmiseGo (OMG), DASH (DASH), Algorand (ALGO), Naga (NGC) , Monolith (TKN), IHT Real Estate (IHT), Power Ledger (POWR), Kromatica (KROM), DFX Finance (DFX), Amp (AMP), Rally (RLY), Rari Governance Token (RGT). DerivaDAO (DDX), XYO Network (XYO), Liechtenstein Cryptoasset Exchange (LCX), Kin (KIN), Salt Lending (SALT), Beaxy Token (BXY), DragonChain (DRGN), Tron (TRX), BitTorrent (BTT).
