Cryptocurrencies Have Transformed the Payment Methods in the Casino Industry

Cryptocurrencies can deal with online threats thanks to the advanced security features in the technology behind them. Online casinos accepting crypto assets allow players to access their funds without a problem, avoiding political and geographic borders.

Over the last few decades, blockchain technology has allowed the growing digitization of the casino industry and its payment methods.

An increasing number of real money online casinos with favorable RTP (return to players) rates accept cryptocurrencies. Thanks to crypto payments, transactions can occur instantly without approval from a centralized institution such as a bank.

Cryptocurrencies also allow people to enjoy greater anonymity while participating in casino games.

Cryptocurrencies Contribute to Advanced Security in Online Casinos

The reluctance of customers to submit sensitive financial information caused online casinos to take off slowly. The Internet has been fraught with threats, leading prospective casino players to be extremely careful.

However, cryptocurrencies have faced this problem, as blockchain technology includes advanced security features. Crypto assets make it unnecessary to enter sensitive financial information into the casino profile.

Players Can Minimize Expenses with Decentralized Crypto Assets

Cryptocurrencies minimize the costs incurred by credit and debit cards when trying to deposit or withdraw funds from an online casino.

The use of cryptocurrencies also eliminates high fees as no broker seeks to profit from the transaction. The decentralized nature of the blockchain ensures that those payments are dependent on network load.

The cost of casino deposits and withdrawals decreases as cryptocurrencies reduce the expense burden.

Cryptocurrencies Allow Increased Convenience in Online Casinos

Despite living in a country with gambling restrictions, citizens can enjoy playing in online casinos anywhere. Conventional casinos cannot do this due to payment methods in jurisdictions not allowing gambling.

However, online casinos that accept crypto assets allow players to access their funds without a problem. Cryptocurrencies have helped users to circumvent political and geographic borders only through an Internet connection.

Transactions Are Faster through the Use of Cryptocurrencies

Players must face many obstacles before collecting the prizes they have won in an online casino. That problem becomes worse when the operator of the casino is working from another country.

That situation has prevented many people from switching to online casinos, sticking with traditional ones. However, cryptocurrencies improve transaction speed, allowing players to withdraw their funds from their wallets within minutes.

No central or commercial bank monitors and controls those transactions due to the decentralized nature of cryptocurrencies.

Crypto assets like Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and Ripple (XRP) allow for speeding up the transfer of funds.

Crypto Assets Increase the Level of Transparency

Online casinos would benefit from blockchain technology thanks to its transparent nature. Many people distrust the casino system, as they believe the software helps the casino operators.

Some casinos unscrupulously lure players with the promise of big rewards and vague promotions. They fail to pay users at the right time or take a high share of their winnings.

Blockchain technology encourages transparency as a public ledger keeps track of all transactions, including win rate, loss rate, and added payouts. Another factor is that only the network can permit changing its immutable records.

Mexican Filmmaker Seeks to Finance His Movies by Selling NFTs

The NFTs cost between 75 and 100 dollars, which provided their holders with unique experiences, bonus material, and visits to the recording set.

Mexican filmmaker Gibrán Bazán revealed that he is considering financing his films through the sale of non-fungible tokens (NFT), which would allow him not to require conventional financing from private or government funds.

Bazán’s Talk to Forbes Mexico

The Mexican filmmaker explained the following to Forbes Mexico magazine:

“The Web 3.0 opens up a new panorama especially for creators because instead of big companies monetizing projects, now creators are going to choose the platforms to monetize their projects. It is a decentralization of content and financing.”

Last year, during the webinar organized by Macabro Lab, speakers referred to the benefits of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.

In terms of monetization and production, Mexican cinema has difficulty finding sufficient institutional funds.

At the time, Mauricio Chernovetzky pointed out that Bitcoin (BTC) is changing paradigms and changing communities to create and said that part of the budget for his movie “Patitos Feos” came from cryptocurrencies, contributing 400,000 Mexican pesos in Bitcoin (0.41 BTC).

Filmmaker Gibrán Bazán pointed out that he launched the “Durmientes” collection of 1,500 pieces of NFT art, related to the movie “Bazán”, which cost between 75 and 100 dollars, which provided its holders with unique experiences, extra material, and visits to the set. of recording.

Gibrán Bazán pointed out to Forbes that, “We are a think tank with a platform to develop NFT technology throughout different industries: real estate where we already have a project, art, film, music, clothing, there are many applications.”

Mexican Movies, NFTs and Bitcoin

The movie industry and other arts in Mexico have integrated NFTs and Bitcoin before. Last year, the Hidalgo International Film Festival of the Americas (FICAH) reported that its fifth edition awarded prizes in Bitcoin and NFTs, becoming the first film event in the country to award winners under other formats.

The Festival explained that this award format will be awarded in the FICAH5 category, but only to the most competitive works. The organizers, who sponsor the Museum of Chaos, argued that the advantage of using tokens and Bitcoin is that the winners do not reside in Mexico.

On the other hand, there is already a documentary called “Ethereum: The Infinite Garden”, which had the goal of raising 750 ETH and ended up raising 1,036 ETH, almost 2 million dollars. The story focuses on the history of cryptocurrency and has its co-founder Vitalik Buterin as a key player.

Bitcoin to Face $25,000, and Ethereum Pending for the ‘Merge’ to Happen

Ethereum devs to decide whether to go ahead with September 19 date.

The cryptocurrency market retains much of Wednesday’s gains for the main tokens, in the heat of softer inflation in the US, 8.5% compared to 9.1% previously, which boosted the prices of Bitcoin and Ethereum by more than 4%.

The gains are 7% for BTC in 24 hours and 12% for ETH, while the total capitalization exceeds 1.16 billion dollars.

Naeem Aslam, an analyst at Avatrade, comments that “traders believe the time has come to dismiss any recession concerns as inflation has peaked in the US.” Meanwhile, the labor market remains as strong as it can get.

Aslam warns, however, that “it is important that traders do not lose control of risk, since the comments of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will continue to be the main denominator in the rally.”

Negative Crypto News Overshadowed

The negative news of the crypto space has been overshadowed by this news, but only a day before the digital currencies had been weighed down by the poor results of Coinbase, which lost more than a billion dollars in the second quarter, as well as by reports of payment suspensions and company bankruptcies, which do not cease in the market.

However, as some analysts, such as Craig Erlam of Oanda, had ventured, the good news has served as a catalyst for Bitcoin to continue its rally and finally try it with $25,000. For now, the highs are at $24,500.

Regarding the second currency by market capitalization, it is moving forward eagerly on its way to $2,000. ETH investors have their own dose of encouraging information.

The Ethereum network has successfully completed the last test before the change of consensus from the current proof-of-work to proof-of-stake, an event highly anticipated by the market.

This has been confirmed by Ansgar Dietrichs, a researcher at the Ethereum Foundation, in a series of posts on Twitter, of which one stands out, “To be fair, that is a calculated tradeoff: Having so many different client combinations means that it is almost impossible to get to 100% perfection, but at the same time the network is robust against a small hiccup rate.”

On the other hand, it has echoed the success of the final test before the event known as ‘The Merge’, whereby the test chain of the new protocol will merge with the main chain of the network, Christine Kim, of Galaxy Digital, posted on Twitter that, “A successful merge = the chain ends.”

Kim wrote in a tweet, adding that, “participation rate dropped and looks like there may have been an issue with one of the clients but the Merge worked. We’ll likely see minor issues like this with the upgrade on mainnet too but the point is, the Merge worked.”

The Ethereum core developers announced a meeting for this Thursday, with the idea of deciding when exactly they will release the update on the Ethereum Blockchain.

Previous forecasts were that ‘The Merge’ would become official around mid-September, being September 19 the most likely launching date.

In the last 30 days, the value of ether, the native currency of the Ethereum Blockchain, has increased by nearly 80%, with an increase of 10% in the last 24 hours alone. It is now trading at about $1,875. However, annual declines of around 50% persist.

A Study Reveals that Nigerians Are the Most Curious about Cryptocurrencies

Nigerians have searched the most for the terms related to cryptocurrencies despite a global decrease in interest after the April crash. The United Arab Emirates ranks second among the countries studied where regulators have introduced new legislation to supervise cryptocurrency adoption.

The results of a study by CoinGecko showed an increase in the curiosity of Nigerian users about cryptocurrencies. Despite the crypto winter, the African country ranks first among 15 countries regarding Google searches for crypto information.

The youngest generation of Nigerians has been ditching the local fiat currency, a trend showing no signs of stopping.

The Most Popular Crypto Searches among Nigerians

Nigerians have searched the most for the terms cryptocurrency, invest in cryptocurrencies, and buy cryptocurrencies. That has happened despite a global decrease in the interest in cryptocurrency investments, especially after the crash in April.

The low level of Nigerian financial services has led citizens to have a growing interest in cryptocurrencies. That same situation has caused many people in all African countries to support crypto assets.

According to a report from KuCoin, 35% of Nigerians have invested in the crypto market since April.

The survey revealed that 50% of the cryptocurrency investors participating in the study were women. The reasons to buy crypto assets include that they are a reliable means of payment and a store of value (53%). Some want to invest for higher long-term returns (50%), while others intend to start a business and improve living conditions (40%).

Thirty-six percent of the respondents say they invest to receive additional income for their salaries. While 34% strive for financial independence, 26% expect to rely on cryptocurrencies without having to work more.

The United Arab Emirates Ranks Second in Crypto Searches

Given the support the United Arab Emirates (UAE) gives crypto assets, it is not surprising that it ranked second. Regulators have introduced new legislation and have formed a specialized agency to supervise cryptocurrency adoption.

Several leading players in the cryptocurrency industry feel attracted to work in the UAE.

While Singapore ranked 3rd with 260 searches, the United States of America was 12th with 157.

Those results reveal there is a growing interest in the crypto market worldwide.

Searches for Ethereum Outperform those for Bitcoin

In 14 out of 15 countries led by Singapore, there were more searches for Ethereum (ETH) than Bitcoin. The growth of interest in the second-largest cryptocurrency might be due to the upcoming Ethereum merger.

Ethereum is moving toward the proof-of-stake (PoW) merger transition in September. The final testnet for the recently occurring Merge completed the last trial before the main event.

The successful integration, which the community has received happily, is just one of many occurring on the testnet in 2022. The merger has been a development that may lead to further changes in the history of the Ethereum network.

Ether is trading at around USD 1,884 and has accumulated an 11.1% gain over the last 24 hours. While its daily trading volume is above USD 25.89 billion, its market capitalization is about USD 226.49, according to CoinGecko.

Bank to the Future Wants to Invest $6 Billion in Bitcoin in El Salvador

0

Milena Mayorga admitted that much of that foreign direct investment would not have come without the adoption of Bitcoin. The ambassador of El Salvador in the United States announced that the Bank to the Future is only obtaining licenses to operate.

El Salvador ambassador to the United States, Milena Mayorga, announced that the Bank to the Future, an online bank, would invest in El Salvador more than 6,000 million dollars in Bitcoin (BTC), which would also include the installation of the bank.

According to Diario El Salvador, the Bank to the Future is in the process of setting up the country and is waiting to obtain permits and licenses from the government.

Mayorga Further Explains

The ambassador of El Salvador to the United States pointed out the following:

“The company has a presence in other places, but it is interested in operating in El Salvador because of the stability that the country provides. It has all the licenses, and is being supported by a law firm with the registration of the company, as well as with staff recruitment.”

On Twitter, Mayorga posted that, “”We have around 100 projects with the diaspora that are around $400 million. Thanks to security, confidence has been generated so that they come to invest.”

Foreign Investment on the Road

During a radio interview, Milena Mayorga highlighted the increase in foreign direct investment, which has triggered the generation of jobs, the increase in tourism, and the reactivation of the domestic market, and admitted that a large part of this investment would not have come without the adoption of Bitcoin (BTC) as legal tender.

“Great businessmen with whale investors would not have come to the country if it had not been for the adoption of Bitcoin. We have contact with large businessmen and large companies; I am managing meetings with Bank of the Future, for example, and I am in contact with the president so that he can see his agenda.”

Other constant Bitcoin investors to projects and social causes in El Salvador are Max Keizer and Stacy Herbert, who recently donated $10,000 in Bitcoin.

“Max and I donated $10,000 on behalf of @bitfinex to each family of the murdered police officers in El Salvador. We were able to speak with the families, including some of the very young children, who had buried their loved ones today after making the ultimate sacrifice for El Salvador.”

Finally, the ambassador to the United States highlighted the investments of Grupo Invictus for 1,200 million dollars in resorts in San Salvador, Surf City, and La Unión, as well as another 100 projects that add up to an investment of 400 million dollars.

In addition, she pointed out that companies of the caliber of Binance already have 50 employees in El Salvador:

“When all these steps are taken, it is expected that by the end of the year they can already be operating and bring that capital. In addition, the fact that a bank like this comes to the country opens the opportunity for investors who work through Bitcoin to carry out activities in the country. Saudi Arabia wants to invest in Latin America, and they highlighted that El Salvador is of great interest to them. They are evaluating where to invest socially, but also where to promote trade.”

Before Launching Its CBDC, the Australian Central Bank Will Explore Its Use Cases

An official RBA report states that the DFCRC is helping them evaluate the use cases for a CBDC. The publication of a study explaining the objectives of that project will provide more detail about the approach and the primary beneficiaries.

Central bank digital currencies or CBDCs have gained increasing popularity worldwide, as many governments plan to use them against stablecoins. These include Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), and Dai (DAI), which are at parity with the US dollar.

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) recently announced the launch of a CBDC. However, they explained that they are still exploring the possible economic benefits of this project.

Various Companies to Help the Australian Central Bank Develop Its CBDC

A report on the official page of the RBA states that the Digital Finance Cooperative Research Centre (DFCRC) is helping the financial institution. They will work together to evaluate the use cases for a CBDC in the Oceanian country.

The RBA explained that it would take one year to develop the CBDC and expect it to provide economic benefits. However, they will conduct a pilot test involving a limited issuance and operation process under their control.

They have also requested different companies to collaborate with them in the development of the CBDC. That way, they can achieve utility models for businesses, homes, or companies, besides better legal, technical and regulatory agreements.

Andres Furche, the general director of the DFCRC, explained that there are no problems with the payment systems in Australia. Since they are relatively modern and work well, implementing a CBDC is not a matter of technical feasibility but economic benefits.

The financial institution explained that they would outline the definitive objectives of the CBDC after evaluating the results. That will allow knowing the details about the approach and the primary beneficiaries.

Around 80% of the Countries Are Interested in Digital Currencies

The Reserve Bank of Australia is not the only one with its sights on CBDCs. A PwC report published several months ago indicates that at least 80% of central banks worldwide are researching digital currencies.

China is one of the countries that has progressed most in that regard, even launching the e-yuan in 2020.

It is a matter of time before the other central banks publish their assessments. Meanwhile, many people are waiting for the results of 28 pilot programs while enjoying the existing CBDCs.

Cryptocurrencies have become increasingly relevant in the economic system worldwide. Many governments have even created regulations to control or ban them, arguing they contribute to illicit activities.

The development of CBDCs that compete with US dollar-pegged crypto assets is an action they have taken. For example, China wants to reduce the prominence of the American fiat currency with the digital yuan (e-CNY).

Meanwhile, BTC is trading at around USD 23,892 and has accumulated a 3.6% over the last week. While its daily trading volume is above USD 25.14 billion, its market capitalization is about USD 455.66 billion, according to CoinGecko.
