UK Banks Refuse Crypto Clients Amid Regulatory Pressure

0

Said rejection is due to concerns about money laundering and fraud. This has led some clients to seek alternative, more crypto-friendly banking solutions.

There are reports that UK banks, due to regulatory pressure, have been turning away clients who trade cryptocurrencies. The move has apparently not gone down well with those who argue that it is nothing more than an overreaction to the perceived risks associated with digital assets.

According to a recent report by The Telegraph, major banks such as HSBC, Barclays, and Standard Chartered are among those that have refused to work with clients who are involved in cryptocurrency-related activities. The banks cite regulatory concerns, such as the potential for money laundering and fraud, as reasons for their decisions.

This fact is seen as a blow to the UK crypto industry, which has been growing rapidly in recent years. The country has become a hub for cryptocurrency-related business and innovation, with some calling London the “Bitcoin capital of Europe.” The new move by banks to reject crypto customers could derail the growth of the industry, as well as limit innovation.

Banks Under Regulatory Pressure

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has cracked down on cryptocurrency-related activities in recent months. In January, for example, the regulator announced a ban on the sale of derivatives to retail investors, citing concerns about their complexity and lack of transparency.

The FCA has also put pressure on banks to improve their measures against money laundering and terrorist financing. The regulator has been conducting a review of banks’ financial crime controls, with a particular focus on their activities.

Some banks have reportedly responded to such pressure by turning away customers who engage in cryptocurrency-related activities altogether. The Telegraph report cites several cases where people’s or companies’ accounts have been closed, or even denied services, due to their involvement in digital assets.

Banks’ Decisions Met with Strong Criticism

The banks’ decision to reject crypto customers has not been welcomed. Critics argue that the vast majority of the activities are legitimate and that the industry is going to extreme lengths to address concerns about money laundering and fraud.

Another criticism leveled is that the banks themselves have been embroiled in numerous scandals related to money laundering and other financial crimes. Therefore, refusing legitimate customers could be seen as disingenuous, which could further damage the reputation of banks.

What is the Impact of Such Decisions on the Industry?

The decision by UK banks to turn away clients could have a significant impact on the industry. The UK has been a hub for cryptocurrency-related innovation, with many companies, both new and established, operating in the space. If banks continue to turn away customers, it could limit growth and innovation in the industry, as well as make it harder for existing businesses to function.

The move could also prompt companies to relocate to other jurisdictions with more favorable regulatory environments. This would be detrimental to the UK economy, as the crypto industry has the potential to create jobs, as well as generate significant income.

Time will tell how banks and other financial institutions will react. What is clear, however, is that the industry needs support and a regulatory environment that encourages innovation and growth.

Shiba Inu Forecast for Q2 2023

0

After a fairly quiet first quarter of 2023 for the Shiba Inu, there could be strong increases again in the second quarter of 2023.

The Shiba Inu price has increased so far in 2023. At the beginning of the year, the rate was US$0.000008. In January, the Shiba Inu was able to increase in value massively. At the beginning of February, the SHIB course was back to $0.000015. Therefore, the price increased almost twice as much in a month.

Said rally was followed by setbacks in February 2023. At the end of the month, the price was just $0.000012. With the fall in cryptocurrency prices during the US banking crisis, the rate dropped to $0.000010. In March, the Shiba Inu price surprisingly moved mostly sideways.

Shiba Inu Can’t Increase as Much as other Coins – Here’s Why

As a meme coin, Shiba Inu can often increase considerably in a short period. However, in other weeks, the price can also move very differently from the market trend. The course is generally very difficult to predict, as it jumps very sharply from one week to the next. However, the Shiba Inu forecast is quite positive for the second quarter of 2023, due to market momentum.

What is the Shiba Inu Forecast for the Second Quarter of 2023?

The prognosis does not seem to be easy to establish at this time. On the one hand, it is not certain that the crypto market can continue to rise sharply in the coming weeks, although another rise seems likely. On the other hand, Shiba Inu as a meme coin can always move very quickly in a certain direction.

Currently, the Shiba Inu forecast for the second quarter of 2023 looks positive. With a strong rise in the crypto market in the coming weeks, the Shiba Inu price should also be able to rise in the medium term.

Assuming that the price of Bitcoin could surpass $30,000 soon, it could lead to a sharp rise in the Shiba Inu price. Therefore, the SHIB price could move higher towards $0.000015 again.

In the next three months, it would be very possible that the course could even double if there were to be another rise as strong as the one in January. In any case, the Shiba Inu forecast for the next few weeks should be positive.

Therefore, a Shiba Inu forecast of $0.000015 to $0.000022 is assumed by the end of the second quarter.

Shiba Inu Forecast by CryptoPredictions

Shiba Inu started in April 2023 at $0.000010862502665 and is forecasted to end the month at $0.000011147854044. During April, the expected SHIB price maximum is $0.000018992378615 and the minimum is $0.000012914817458.

Shiba Inu is expected to start in May 2023 at $0.00001287777127 and end the month at $0.000015962562015. During May, the expected SHIB price maximum is $0.000018937898926 and the minimum is $0.00001287777127.

Shiba Inu is expected to start June 2023 at $0.000015483685154 and end the month at $0.000016201942756. During June, the expected SHIB price maximum is $0.00001886558789 and the minimum is $0.000012828599765.

Four Important Economic Data for BTC and Cryptocurrencies this Week

The week begins on Monday with the release of the US manufacturing PMIs, among other important events.

The business week leading up to the Easter holidays begins on Monday with the release of the US manufacturing PMIs. On Tuesday, the US JOLTs labor report will be released. On Wednesday, the Institute of Supply and Management will present the latest Purchasing Managers’ Indexes for the US service sector. In closing the week, on Good Friday, current US unemployment numbers will be released.

Below are details of such economic data.

Monday: US Purchasing Managers’ Index for the Manufacturing Economy

Investors watch the US ISM Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) this afternoon at 4:00 ET. If the Purchasing Managers’ Index corrects again, consolidation in the US stock markets could be expected, as occurred in the previous month.

It remains to be seen if the trend of relative BTC price outperformance compared to US stock markets can be consolidated. In an optimal scenario, the cryptocurrency sector can also join this positive movement, and return to the trend toward its highs of the previous week. However, traditionally, sales in the week leading up to Easter are below average, so a sustained sideways phase should not come as a surprise

Tuesday: JOLT Job Report

On Tuesday afternoon, at 4 pm, the current JOLTS employment report for the month of March will be released.

If the number of vacancies is below expectations for the first time, this would point to the economic slowdown that market experts have been forecasting for some time. In addition, a deterioration in the situation in the labor market would further increase the probability of an economic recession in the second quarter.

A weak JOLTS report is likely to trigger further pullbacks in US stock indices prices, putting further price pressure on the crypto market. Nevertheless, if US companies continue to create more new jobs than anticipated, as they have done in the last six months, it would increase the likelihood that the bullish trend in US stock indices will continue.

Wednesday: US Service Sector Purchasing Managers Indices

The latest Purchasing Managers’ Indexes will be released midweek at 4:00 p.m. m. If the analyst estimate of 54.5 is broken again, investors should continue to rate it positively, thus benefiting the stock and crypto market. If, contrary to expectations, the services sector weakens significantly, this would indicate that the US economy is becoming increasingly cooler overall. Troubles in the service sector should also further increase the probability that inflation will fall significantly in the coming months.

Friday: US Jobs and Unemployment Rate Report

At 2:30 p.m. this Friday, the United States unemployment rate for the month of March will be published. The estimate of market experts is 3.6 percentage points.

If the number of new jobs is below analysts’ expectations, the unemployment rate is likely to rise and reach the level of December 2022. However, in anticipation of a public holiday, trading in shares of the USA will remain closed. Consequently, a clear reaction would only be expected to the figures published on Easter Monday, April 10.

Bitcoin Will Serve as a Weapon in Modern Warfare, Explains a U.S. Commander

According to U.S. Space Force commander Major Jason Lowery and an MIT Research Fellow, Bitcoin can be an essential element for the nation’s security. He makes known that Bitcoin can become an instrument for conducting a new form of cyber warfare in the 21st century; it will be used as a weapon.

Lowery published his book entitled”Softwar”, in its cover deer antlers are used as a metaphor for the use of Bitcoin as a weapon. He explains that deer antlers might seem harmless, but what they show is the way two deer fight for their territory, but without causing lethal damage.

In his book, he develops a proposal that establishes that Bitcoin’s proof-of-work consensus protocol gives a method for the resolution of modern warfare conflicts, without nuclear weapons or killer bots flocks. In this sense, the proof-of-work (PoW) cyber antlers will work in the following way, the winner of each round gets some bitcoins (BTC) from the network and the right to publish the next block of transactions, as proof-of-work (PoW) relies on the capability to drag energy to decipher mathematical problems, power throughout the network will be broadly disseminated within the physical space across power sources that are all over the country.

Possible Future of Bitcoin in the United States of America

Lowery’s thesis sets forth a call to the United States, firstly to gather Bitcoin, secondly, to grow the domestic Bitcoin mining industry, and lastly, to prolong the Second Amendment protections, which establish that any U.S. citizen has the right to bear weapons on the basis that a gun serves for self-defense.

On the other, there is another interesting feature in Lowery’s book that suggests using Bitcoin as a defense system. He explains that the Bitcoin network can be the digital equivalent of maritime trade routes and that it will help to handle the military urgency regarding the protection of navigation freedom on the network.

Lowery pointed out that Bitcoin is a “weapon system intended specifically for self-defense” that has “major national strategic implications.”

Experts indicate that the proposal is pioneering although it places several technical obstacles to be solved, moreover political challenges such as the U.S. goal to reduce carbon emissions and the posture of some politicians such as Senator Elizabeth Warren, who has had a constant posture against Bitcoin ecosystem, as CryptoNews reported.

Although there is no confirmation that the U.S. government is interested in Lowery’s idea, his approach to the thesis that Bitcoin can serve as a weapon in modern warfare gives some hints related to the way U.S. politics new generations will realize that cryptocurrency networks can be useful tools.

Bitcoin Country El Salvador’s New Bill Offers Tax Breaks for Technological Innovation

El Salvador was the first country to make Bitcoin legal tender and pushed for further adoption.

The popular crypto-friendly country El Salvador has taken a big step in improving economic growth through technology. It recently revised its tax system by exempting technological innovations to drive developments. This latest move is expected to attract more developers to the country, as it has become a tax haven for them.

El Salvador Offers Tax Exemptions for Tech Developers

President Nayib Bukele sent the bill to Congress on April 1. El Salvador’s tax exemption covers developers in artificial intelligence development and coding applications, software programming, communications, and computing hardware manufacturing. It removes all import duties, income capital gains, and property taxes from these sectors.

The law aims to make El Salvador the leader in advanced technology manufacturing in Latin America. Likewise, the president aims to encourage, diversify and expand Salvadoran human talent toward the manufacture of technology. He also wants to boost education and training in advanced technological manufacturing.

The president established a National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC) to support this recent move. The regulatory body will work hand in hand with Bitcoin companies and businessmen in the country.

ONBTC announced via Twitter that it would help position El Salvador as a global technological and economic power. In particular, President Bukele had promised to continue with this decision on March 24. He made the announcement on Twitter, leading to positive results as many users saw it as a step to boost the country’s tech industry.

Reactions to New Bill Announcement: “Unfair Competition”

Despite the fact that the announcement aroused interest in the population, the measure may not be entirely fair for companies in other sectors that do pay taxes in the country, as well as it may not have the expected impact.

According to the economist Rafael Lemus, it is necessary to know the content of the bill and verify if the measure includes Salvadoran companies in the field that, before these incentives, had already been consolidated in the country or if it is aimed only at the new companies that emerge.

Senior economist of the Central American Institute for Fiscal Studies (ICEFI), Ricardo Castaneda, points out that “if the State allows certain sectors not to pay taxes, it will imply that others do, which includes the entire population and that results in unfair competition for Salvadoran companies”.

In this sense, Castaneda points out that the country should advance and develop in this area through other mechanisms that could boost the growth of this industry in the future. country, such as funds earmarked for innovation.

El Salvador’s Economic Development Skyrocketed Following BTC Legalization

In November 2021, the country inaugurated a $1 billion BTC bond-backed Bitcoin city to be a home for “all things Bitcoin”. After legalizing BTC, tourism from El Salvador skyrocketed by 30%. El Salvador saw a boost in its exports, since it grew by 13% in January 2022, beyond the 10.3% registered in January 2021.
