Metropolitan Museum of Art to Return FTX Donations

According to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET), an agreement was reached to return the donations received from the FTX exchange.

The MET recently announced that it will return the donations received last year from the FTX cryptocurrency exchange. Before declaring bankruptcy, the digital currency exchange distributed millions of dollars in donations to various entities and politicians. The company declared bankruptcy in November 2022.

Thus, the New York museum publicly assured that it had reached an agreement in good faith with the debtors to return their funds. The MET sent a brief to the Delaware bankruptcy court last Friday to notify its willingness to return the money. This is the same court where FTX filed for bankruptcy.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art received the sum of $550,000 in two separate donations. The first of these was in March 2022, and it included $300,000 dollars. The rest, $250,000, was received in May 2022.

FTX Donations to the MET Will Be Returned

FTX’s donations to the MET are not among the largest the exchange has made in the United States. In any case, the museum promised to return that collection. The decision would have been made after “negotiations in good faith and on equal terms.”

It is worth mentioning that the funds received by the museum were from West Realm Shires Services, the managing firm of FTX US. Currently, the management of the bankrupt exchange makes every effort to recover the money donated by the company under the management of Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF).

The recovery efforts began in December, that is, immediately after the scandal that led to the bankruptcy of one of the most important exchanges. All the donations would have occurred between March 2020 and November 2022.

Millions of dollars in souvenirs were given out to politicians and organizations during that period, court documents show. The complaints suggest that some 180 US politicians received donations from FTX. Of these, only 19 returned the funds or expressed their willingness to do so.

The Magnitude of SBF´s Gifts

As already stated, the FTX board is launching a strong campaign to get the donation funds back from the exchange. In this sense, he would have sent numerous confidential letters to the politicians who benefited, urging them to return the amounts received. According to various portals, the liquid funds delivered would amount to $5.5 billion dollars.

The company’s own CEO, John Jay Ray, refers to this task as a “herculean” effort. The executive says all options are on the table to ensure that donations are recovered, including those given to charities.

According to SBF himself, all active funds are usable to support defrauded users of the exchange. In a blog post, cited by ABC News, the former head of the exchange offers some details on the donations issue. “I think it is likely that FTX would have been able to win back all the clients if there had been a concerted effort to increase liquidity,” he says.

Thus, donations made by FTX are a hot topic in the political world of the United States. It is likely that if the tendency of politicians to refuse to return the funds continues, it could lead the company to sue them publicly. However, it is possible that FTX will increase the pressure, and agreements similar to the one reached with the MET will be reached.

Ethereum Price of $50,000 by 2030: An Optimistic Future

Ethereum’s potential to reach a $50,000 valuation by 2030 is based on its unique revenue model, declining token supply, and extensive market capture strategy. Investing in Ethereum carries a level of risk, which underscores the importance of research and portfolio diversification.

Ethereum price prediction 2030 marks rapid transformations and immense possibilities for blockchain technology. One such innovation, Ethereum, occupies a distinctive position due to its unique value proposition and robust growth.

Investment management firm VanEck has hinted at an ambitious $50,000+ price target for Ethereum by 2030. This price prediction may seem aspirational initially, but it is based on practical analysis.

Unpacking the Ethereum Valuation Mechanism

Understanding the valuation of Ethereum requires understanding its unique revenue model. Unlike a traditional business, Ethereum does not depend on selling products or services to customers. Instead, it provides a decentralized computing platform.

This network earns revenue primarily through transaction fees, or the costs associated with using Ethereum, and miners’ extractable value (MEV), which is the profit derived from ordering transactions on each block.

Furthermore, Ethereum is not just a transactional currency. It is gradually consolidating as a store of value asset for entities seeking to optimize their assets. The unique value proposition lies in the annual reduction of the Ethereum token supply. Each transaction fee results in the burning of ETH, reducing the total supply.

As the supply decreases, the value of the remaining tokens increases, increasing the attractiveness of Ethereum for investors. This interesting dynamic contributes to Ethereum’s growth potential and makes a strong case for its long-term sustainability.

For investors, Ethereum’s declining supply means lower inflation risk, further reinforcing Ethereum’s appeal as a long-term investment.

A fundamental aspect of Ethereum’s potential growth and valuation revolves around its market capture strategy. Ethereum’s focus is not limited to a single sector or industry. Instead, they aim to revolutionize multiple sectors, including Finance, Banking and Payments (FBP), Metaverse, Social and Gaming (MSG), and Infrastructure (I).

There are strong indications that Ethereum can capture significant market share in these categories, thanks to its unique abilities to reduce costs, drive efficiencies, and open up new revenue streams.

Ethereum Price Prediction 2030: A Future Leader in SaaS

As Ethereum expands, its role in the Security as a Service (SaaS) model becomes more apparent. By exporting the value of the ETH token to support external ecosystems, applications, and protocols, Ethereum can earn significant revenue.

Predicting the exact degree of use of ETH for off-chain security can be challenging, but Ethereum’s potential to protect external ecosystems cannot be denied.

This positions Ethereum as a central figure in the Blockchain landscape, providing a decentralized computing platform and ensuring the safety and security of the Blockchain ecosystem.

Ethereum’s path to a $50,000 valuation by 2030 is not as unrealistic as it might initially seem. A combination of factors, including its unique revenue model, broad market capture strategy, scalability through L2 solutions, and potential as a leader in SaaS, contribute to its growth potential.

As Ethereum continues to evolve, adapt and pioneer new paths, VanEck’s bold prediction may become a reality. However, it is important to remember that cryptocurrency investments carry a degree of risk. While the potential for high returns is real, so is the potential for significant losses.

It is always advisable to diversify an investment portfolio and do extensive research before making an investment decision, especially in regards to the Ethereum price prediction for 2030.

Marathon Digital: Watch below if Bitcoin breaks out NASDAQ MARA

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) has been an absolute rocket this year. This is despite a fairly significant consolidation that has been underway since mid-April. Of course, that kind of action requires a number of stocks, including those that mine Bitcoin for a living.

One such name is Marathon Digital (NASDAQ: MARA), which also rose sharply this year, but has stalled since mid-April.

Today, the stock has been in a very tight range since mid-April, which, coincidentally, started when Bitcoin started consolidating and Marathon looks good, but avoiding taking a position until it breaks out of the range, it is obvious that big consolidations generate big moves.

Marathon’s consolidation is almost two months old now and it can be seen that it has been extremely tight. The range is approximately $8.50 to $10.75, and the stock at the lower end of that range was found after Monday’s action.

Bitcoin and Bitcoin-related stocks go through boom and bust cycles often, and it is expected that the move out of this consolidation range to be massive. That would be true only because of the long consolidation, but this stock also has about a quarter of the short float. That will exacerbate the next move, either up or down, so buckle up if you have a position.

Marathon lost ~74% of its value relative to Bitcoin at the end of last year but has gained 75% (from a very low base) so far in 2023. That means investors are paying more attention today to Marathon’s Bitcoin than they were in January this can be so because the stock looks cheap relative to Bitcoin, but it is one more thing to keep in mind. However, things get a little more complicated when we look at the currency itself.

Bitcoin is getting into a pretty ugly descending triangle, and the momentum indicators are unmistakably weak. There is a critical support zone of just over $25k, which is where it is now. If that breaks to the downside, look below; as we could see a quick test of $21k in short order. If that happens, everything I said about Marathon coming out of its consolidation is null and void. If Bitcoin breaks down, just get out of Marathon or anything else Bitcoin-related that you own.

That sounds pretty awful, and that’s because it seems to be a big risk although there is not a breakdown yet, but if there would be, all bets are off. To counter that, it can be said that the money is turning bullish on Bitcoin this year, with the coin’s relative performance versus the S&P 500 and Nasdaq.

That outperformance changed in April when Bitcoin outperformed, and it has underperformed significantly since then. But this happens all the time, and time will tell whether this is a consolidation before a new up move or the start of another bear market in the OG altcoin.

Marathon is Struggling

Marathon has seen its stock price completely destroyed over the past two years, but that’s for good reason. The company was basically printing money during the time when Bitcoin hit all-time highs, but today it’s a far cry from that.

Bitcoin production looks great and capacity continues to increase. However, volume is only one piece of the puzzle. The second piece, and arguably the most critical, is margins.

The company needs higher prices to more easily fund operating costs, but it also has 3,100 unrestricted coins on its stability sheet, which equates to about $80 million at current prices.

Bitcoin Takes a Sharp Turn When It Hits the Bottom at $25.5K: Is the Bear Phase Coming for BTC Price?

Coinglass tracker data reveals that trading positions amounting to nearly $250 million, primarily from traders who anticipated a price rise, have been liquidated in the past four hours.

Despite last week’s positive start, which took BTC north to a three-week high of $28,500, the seven-day period did not end so well for the asset. It fell to a weekly low of $26,500 (on Bistamp) on Friday but managed to recoup some of the losses over the weekend.

Due to recent market conditions, however, the BTC price has taken a sharp bearish turn, hitting the bottom at a staggering $25,500.

The trigger for this massive decline was the recent lawsuit that Binance, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, faced against the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This caused investors to sell their positions due to panic, leading to a downturn in the crypto market today.

Bitcoin Has Not Yet Reached Its Bottom Level

Just as market experts were predicting a potential rise in the Bitcoin (BTC) price, the cryptocurrency market experienced a downturn, following SEC charges against the Binance exchange. This development has led some analysts to speculate that the price of Bitcoin has not yet reached its lowest point.

Recent data indicate a substantial decline in exchange entries for major cryptocurrencies. The exchange input refers to the amount of coins deposited in the exchange wallets.

On-chain analytics firm Glassnode has highlighted this trend for cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, BUSD, USDT, USDC, and DAI. The data reveals that foreign exchange inflows for these major assets have been remarkably low, standing at around $1.84 billion. This figure is about $10.36 billion less than the peak inflow seen during the May 2021 sell-off. Said reduction means a decline of about 85% from the peak nearly two years ago.

Market analysts believe that this trend is mainly due to recent capitulation and liquidity outflow events. It is important to note that large entries generally indicate bearish sentiment while declining values suggest the opposite.

What to Expect from the BTC Price Next?

On the daily chart, the price of Bitcoin (BTCUSD) has fallen below the crucial threshold of $27,000, indicating a bearish trend.

Traders should now turn their attention to the immediate support level at $25.5K and the RSI level to determine the next move. After forming a low of $25,566, the BTC price witnessed a deceleration slowdown, suggesting that bulls emerged to defend the support level and hold the price for a bullish reversal.

Currently, there is a strong battle to push the price of BTC below $25K, as market conditions head towards bearish sentiment following the SEC lawsuit.

If Bitcoin continues to witness further downward pressure near the $25,544 level, the asset may plunge again, following a sell-off by short-term investors. On the bearish side, the next support for the BTC price will be at $24K.

However, on the bullish side, there is a chance of a bounce if the BTC price reverses its current trend and rises above the 38.6% Fibonacci level. A rally toward $26,918 will send the price above $27,409.

Binance Sued by the SEC: Considering Replacing its CEO as BNB Price is Affected

0

According to Bloomberg reports, the platform has recently faced significant regulatory challenges that have created additional difficulties for Changpeng Zhao, the current CEO.

The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has filed a lawsuit against Binance, the company’s platform in the United States, and Changpeng Zhao (CZ), in the District of Columbia Court on June 5.

In this sense, on June 5, Binance tweeted a thread from which the following post stands out:

“4/ Our team is all standing by, ensuring systems are stable, including withdrawals, and deposits. We will issue a response once we see the complaint. Haven’t seen it yet. Media gets the info before we do.”

The American regulatory body has accused the exchange of multiple violations. These include making unregistered offers and sales of BNB and BUSB tokens. As well as products like Simple Earn and BNB Vault, along with their staking program.

The SEC also alleges in the lawsuit that Binance has failed to properly register its Binance.com platform as an exchange or brokerage. Furthermore, it is claimed that Binance and BAM Trading have failed to register Binance.US as an exchange, broker, and clearing agency, and CZ has been sued as a “control person”.

Binance Might Be Considering Replacing Its CEO

Furthermore, Binance is actively evaluating the possibility of replacing its chief executive officer (CEO). According to Bloomberg reports, the platform has recently faced significant regulatory challenges that have created additional difficulties for Changpeng Zhao, the current CEO.

Sources close to him reveal that Richard Tang is the leading candidate to take over should Zhao step down. Tang, a 52-year-old Singaporean, has previously worked at the Central Bank of Singapore, as well as at the Singapore Stock Exchange, before joining Binance in 2021.

Tang is considered to be the ideal candidate to lead the company, amid increasing regulatory pressure facing Binance, despite the fact that it remains the leading cryptocurrency exchange.

BNB Price Records Losses

After the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against Binance and its CEO, Changpeng Zhao, the price of Binance Coin (BNB) experienced a drastic drop.

The first Monday of June was especially negative for BNB after the SEC’s lawsuit was made public. According to internal data, at the time of writing, the BNB price has fallen by around -8.98%, as reported by Criptotendencia’s internal tool, Crypto-Online.

The fact that the SEC sued Binance at a time of weakness for the industry raises great concerns for the community. There are few platforms that could take the place of this exchange, and the worst thing is that those that follow it are also in trouble with the SEC.

The impact of regulatory demand has generated a negative reaction in the market, which is reflected in the significant decrease in the value of BNB. Investors and traders are closely monitoring this situation, as well as its implications for the future of Binance and its native cryptocurrency.

The Bets Raise for LSDfi: A New Horizon for Decentralized Finance?

What does the current increase in bets for liquid staking derivatives in decentralized finance (LSDfi) on Ethereum represent?

Decentralized Finance (DeFi) has yet to recover from the 2022 bear market crashing across the financial world. However, there now appears to be hope with increased stakes for so-called LSDfi. Could this form of trading stimulate the DeFi sector again?

There is currently a new opportunity for promotion with the trade of LSD within the platforms of the sector, points out the specialized portal Metaverso247. In recent work, the site notes that the rise of LSD comes despite the industry facing increased competition. In particular, it is about the highest annual participation reward rate of Ethereum, which is positioned at 4%.

LSDfi to the Rescue of the DeFi Sector

Staking of Ethereum liquid derivative tokens in decentralized finance (LSDfi) is the current target of bets. So far, the non-fungible token market, or NFT, remains the mainstay of the sector with 25-30% participation, explains M247. Likewise, the total percentage of gas tariffs is 8-16%, which contrasts with 30% in 2020.

Trading with Ethereum LSD is made attractive by the already noted 4% staking yield of that network. It is worth mentioning that the best DeFi protocols offer up to a 3% annual return cap. This reduces the motivation of investors when moving from primary tokens to LSD.

With this in perspective, it can be said that the bets on LSDfi will not mean a mechanical relaunch of decentralized finance. In case of gaining greater traction and causing the recovery of strength, this would bring with it an internal rearrangement.

In this sense, the platforms that offer LSD would gain prominence and another important number of these would be born. Under such a speculative scenario, the historically dominant protocols fade into the background.

Either way, it’s still unclear whether the current LSD push will stick or die down the road.

The Rise of Ethereum Staking Popularity

After the most recent update of the Ethereum chain (Shapella), the popularity of the liquid participation of that network increases remarkably. This factor is evidenced by the dramatic drop in the availability of Ether. As reported by CriptoTendencia, the amount of Ether available in exchanges fell to 17.86 million, which is considered the lowest amount in 5 years.

“The scarcity of coins available on buying and selling platforms is largely due to staking,” underlines the aforementioned work. In other words, investors use their coins to earn staking interest and thereby create scarcity for spot trading. Liquid staking on DeFi platforms would be one of the main drains experienced by crypto trading exchanges.

At the other extreme, in the protocols that offer LSD, the reception of these drained funds in the form of TVL is evidenced. In May, investors staked 21.63 million Ethers, representing 18% of the total supply of Ethereum’s native coin. At the same time, by the end of that same month, Ethers on exchanges represented only 14.85% of the total in circulation.

In short, liquid staking of derivatives in decentralized finance (LSDfi) is a uniquely attractive bet. Investors can use this financing to interact with other decentralized finance protocols, which is presented as one of the main trends currently adopted.
