Is the Bull Run Returning? Bitcoin Breaks the $57,000 Barrier

Bitcoin had declined slightly to $56,437, but was still up around 10% from the previous day.

In a not-so-unexpected turn of events, Bitcoin (BTC) has reached new heights, breaking the $57,000 barrier during the early hours of Tuesday in the Asian market.

This price level, not seen since November 2021, marks a significant resurgence of the leading cryptocurrency.

The last time Bitcoin was seen above USD $54,000 was at the end of November 2021, at which time the digital currency was facing a strong correction after having reached the highest capitalized historical highs in its entire history days ago.

Bitcoin ETFs See Unprecedented Activity

Surprisingly, the rise in Bitcoin price has triggered substantial activity in US-based spot Bitcoin ETFs, excluding Grayscale’s GBTC. According to Bloomberg, these ETFs recorded record volume of $2.4 billion on Monday. This increase in trading activity underscores the growing interest and participation of institutional investors in the cryptocurrency market.

Since the beginning of the year, the price of Bitcoin has risen more than 30%, continuing a prolonged rally that has also spurred interest in smaller coins such as Ether and Solana, among speculators.

The demand for Bitcoin is not just limited to spot trading. A substantial inflow of approximately $5.6 billion has poured into the recently launched Bitcoin ETFs in the US, which began trading on January 11.

This influx of investments indicates a growing interest in Bitcoin, extending beyond the traditional base of digital asset enthusiasts.

Yesterday, Eric Balchunas posted the following on X:

“It’s official…the New Nine Bitcoin ETFs have broken all time volume record today with $2.4b, just barely beating Day One but about double their recent daily average. $IBIT went wild accounting for $1.3b of it, breaking its record by about 30%.”

Bitcoin Rally Outshines Traditional Assets

Surprisingly, Bitcoin’s rally this year has outperformed traditional assets like stocks and gold. The ratio comparing the price of Bitcoin to that of the precious metal has reached its highest level in more than two years, indicating a shift in preference among investors towards digital assets.

The total value of digital assets, including several cryptocurrencies, now stands at a staggering $2.2 trillion, a substantial increase from the lows experienced during the 2022 bear market, when the market value fell to around of 820 billion dollars. This resurgence demonstrates the resilience and growing importance of digital assets in the financial landscape.

Contrary Market Indicators Fail to Deter Crypto Momentum

In an intriguing development, despite a rise in US Treasury yields, which typically signals expectations of tighter monetary policy, bullish momentum in the cryptocurrency market remains resilient.

Digital tokens like Bitcoin are experiencing notable upward movements, defying conventional market indicators. Fundstrat Global Advisors head of digital asset strategy Sean Farrell noted in a recent statement that “cryptocurrency bullish momentum is building despite a rally in rates,” highlighting the unique dynamics influencing the cryptocurrency market.”

MicroStrategy Boosts Corporate Bitcoin Holdings

Amid this ongoing rally, MicroStrategy, a prominent enterprise software company known for incorporating Bitcoin into its corporate strategy, has announced a major addition to its cryptocurrency holdings.

The company revealed that it had purchased an additional 3,000 Bitcoin tokens this month, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to approximately $10 billion. This strategic move by MicroStrategy highlights the growing acceptance of cryptocurrencies as a valuable asset by corporate entities.

XRP’s Mysterious 4.5% Rise: What Secrets Does the Blockchain 2024 Roadmap Keep?

Developers are eagerly awaiting revelations about solutions for smart contract execution and the convergence of AI with blockchain technology in XRPLedger.

XRP, Ripple’s native cryptocurrency, saw a 4.5% price increase to $0.56 in the last 24 hours. The rise is attributed to the latest developments within Ripple, updates in the SEC lawsuit against Ripple and there is a sense of anticipation as Ripple CTO David Schwartz prepares to reveal XRPLedger’s plans for 2024.

XRPLedger’s Vision 2024

David Schwartz, the visionary driving Ripple’s technological advancements, will shed light on XRPLedger’s current progress in interoperability and EVM integration, on February 27, 2024.

Meanwhile, the announcement of Ripple’s 2024 roadmap has sparked excitement among XRP holders, leading the altcoin to recoup its recent losses.

On February 26, @RippleX posted the following on X:

“Today, @zoniqxinc and Ripple are partnering to bring multi-asset tokenization onto the #XRPLedger.

This partnership aims to revolutionize asset tokenization on the #XRPL, making it more efficient, accessible, and liquid in the digital asset market.”

Adding to the positive market sentiment is Ripple’s strategic partnership with a Silicon Valley-based blockchain and artificial intelligence company. This collaboration aims to implement multi-asset tokenization on XRPLedger, promising greater accessibility and greater liquidity for cryptocurrencies.

Update on the SEC Case against Ripple

As the legal saga unfolds, the SEC lawsuit against Ripple is scheduled for a significant update on March 13, 2024. The SEC is expected to file a brief related to the remedy, making arguments for punitive sanctions due to the Ripple’s alleged sale of unregistered XRP to the US. Institutional investors will likely take center stage.

Ripple must respond with its report related to the remedy by April 12, and the fine will likely depend on the net proceeds from sales of XRP to non-exempt US institutional investors.

Adding a new layer to this ongoing legal saga, law firm Susman Godfrey LLP, representing Zakinov and the group, published the document in question and launched a website, www.RippleClassAction.com.

The initiative aims to expand the class by reaching potential members who purchased XRP between July 3, 2017 and June 30, 2023 and held on to their XRP or sold it at a loss. The website serves as a hub for disseminating information about the lawsuit, outlining the claims against Ripple, defining the classes involved, and explaining the rights and options available to affected individuals.

The document clearly states that “There is a lawsuit pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California against Ripple Labs, Inc.; Ripple subsidiary XRP II, LLC, and Bradley Garlinghouse. The lawsuit alleges that the defendants offered and sold the digital asset XRP without registration, in violation of federal and state securities laws.”

Additionally, the document highlights that the court has not yet reached a verdict on the claims, highlighting the pending trial as the next important phase in which these issues will be addressed in depth.

XRP Price Analysis

XRP price analysis reveals a short-term bullish signal as it settles above the 50-day EMA but remains below the 200-day EMA, indicating a long-term bearish outlook. A break above the 200-day EMA could push XRP towards the $0.5835 resistance level.

On the contrary, a break below the 50-day EMA and the $0.5470 support level may trigger a bearish move towards the $0.5042 support level. The 14-day RSI reading of 54.24 indicates a potential move towards the $0.5835 resistance level before entering overbought territory.

XRP’s recent rise to $0.56, breaking above the key resistance at $0.55, suggests a positive turn in the altcoin’s fortunes after erasing the previous week’s losses.

OG Ethereum ERC-404 Token PANDORA Is Rallying Again, What’s Behind It?

The most obvious reason behind the price increase recorded by PANDORA over the weekend can be traced back to the significant whale activity.

PANDORA, the first token to use the Ethereum ERC-404 token standard, is on the move after a slowdown for a few weeks. The token’s price saw a significant surge over the weekend, rising around 50% to surpass $24,000 once again.

This recovery was caused by a series of factors, which are explained below.

How PANDORA Tokens Work

There are 10,000 ERC-20 tokens that are tied to a collection of 10,000 Replicant NFTs. If users have less than 1 PANDORA, they will still have the tokens in their wallet, but not a corresponding NFT. If they buy one of the NFTs, they will automatically receive 1 PANDORA token. If a user later sells a fraction of their token, the adjacent NFT will be burned (or permanently destroyed).

The developers behind PANDORA, known as “ctrl” and “Acme,” call this native splitting. But as with most things new in the cryptocurrency markets, the hybrid token is off to a rocky start.

Developer cygaar said it had been working on its own DN404 standard (which stands for Divisible NFT) and had established a working group for DN404 developers.

Whales Set Their Sights on PANDORA

On-chain data tracking website Lookonchain pointed to a series of whale transactions that took place in the days leading up to the price surge. The first whale accumulation was seen on February 20, when Lookonchain reported that a single whale had spent $4.89 million to purchase 244.24 PANDORA tokens.

The buying spree took place over several days, and by the time the whale was ready, they had an average entry price of $20,044.

A couple of days later, on February 23, the on-chain tracking platform reported that another whale was making its PANDORA play. This time, the new whale spent $1.37 million purchasing 71.45 PANDORA tokens at an average price of $19,268.

Together, these whales collected tokens worth just over $6 million. When the price finally reached $24,000, the first whale made profit margins of almost $1 million, while the second whale made a profit of over $330,000.

First Set of Land Incentives for Holders

Another factor that has helped boost the price of PANDORA during the week is the incentives in the form of airdrops that are announced for PANDORA holders.

Monarch, a project also based on the Ethereum ERC-404 token standard, announced in early February that it would be awarding tokens to PANDORA investors. It was announced that a total of 5% of the token supply will be allocated as an airdrop for PANDORA holders.

This incentive, coupled with the fact that PANDORA announced that it is preparing to release the latest version of the ERC-404 token standard, created demand for the token.

PANDORA Token Performance

Over the weekend, PANDORA price went from trending around $16,000 to rising 50% in one day to surpass the $24,000 level. However, this high price level could not be maintained for long as a sharp price drop would occur on February 23, apparently caused by the whales getting rid of their possessions.

Over the past day, the price of the token has continued to fluctuate between $16,000 and $17,000. At the time of writing, the altcoin is trading at $17,139, with losses of 5% in the last day, according to data from Dexscreener.

Fiction or Truth? Ripple Was Founded by a Long Line of Bankers, Says Expert

Edo Farina’s theory presents a dramatic reimagining of Ripple’s origins, suggesting that its development is not a product of the modern digital age but the latest evolution of a banking legacy that has shaped financial systems for centuries.

Edo Farina is a prominent figure in the XRP community, known for serving as Head of Social Adoption at Farina’s extensive research into the origins of Ripple and XRP has unearthed a theory that suggests a lineage linked to a centuries-old banking dynasty.

Through a detailed presentation on X (formerly Twitter), Farina posits that the creation of XRP is the culmination of a meticulously crafted legacy, with the goal of positioning it as the global currency of the future. “I’ve been digging this rabbit hole for over 7 years,” Farina revealed, adding that “The deeper I dug, every piece of evidence has always suggested that XRP is THE one. The chosen world currency. The Fenix.”

The Uncovered History of Ripple?

According to the official history, Ripple was founded by Ryan Fugger in 2004, and the project then evolved into OpenCoin in 2012 thanks to the efforts of Chris Larsen and Jed McCaleb, before finally being renamed Ripple Labs Inc. in 2013, and simply Ripple two years later.

Farina questions this timeline, pointing to a 1991 registration by Ripple Communications, a name closely associated with Ryan Fugger and linked to the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA).

“Suzanne Wilson-Houck, former VP of Marketing at Ripple and appointed CEO of INSA in 2010. Interestingly, from September 2010 to October 2012 she was at Ripple Communications. He left Ripple Communications in October 2012, just as Jed purchased the http://Ripple.com domain and the Ripple Communications trademark, Ripple Communications disappears,” Farina clarifies, suggesting deeper connections and a more intricate backstory than previously known.

The Fugger Family Connection

The most provocative of Farina’s claims is Ryan Fugger’s alleged lineage to the Fugger family, a banking dynasty that dominated the European economy in the 16th century and was instrumental in the rise of the House of Habsburg.

Farina states: “Ryan Fugger is descended from the ‘Fugger Family,’ a German family that controlled much of the European economy in the 16th century and amassed enormous wealth.” It draws parallels between the historical importance of the Fugger family, their financial innovations, and the conceptual foundations of XRP. “The Fugger family also minted their own currency (ducats) and owned approximately 1,425 kg of gold. The coins minted by the Fugger family contained a phoenix according to the National Numismatic Collection,” he notes, further linking Ripple’s past and present.

According to Farina, today the Fugger family still owns bank branches located throughout Europe. “They also control multinational banks (MNB), including the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC),” he added.

The Economist’s Cover and the Phoenix Symbolism

Farina also delves into the symbolism of the phoenix on the famous 1988 cover of The Economist magazine, which is interpreted as a prophetic allusion to a global currency. He links these images to the Fugger family, emphasizing the presence of a phoenix on their minted ducats and the fleur de lys on their coat of arms, symbols reflected in the magazine’s art.

“The Fugger family coat of arms is the ‘fleur de lis,’ which happens to be the crown atop the Phoenix on the 1988 Economist magazine cover. It doesn’t get any clearer than that: Ryan Fugger shares his family’s former banking influence with blockchain,” says Farina, suggesting a deliberate and historical underpinning for the development of XRP.

Top Crypto Analyst and Trader Shares His Strategy for Entering Altcoin Positions

Van de Poppe sets the stage by addressing the quintessential dilemma facing investors: the seductive lure of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) versus the disciplined restraint necessary for strategic market entry.

Michaël van de Poppe is a well-known figure in the cryptocurrency and blockchain community, a cryptocurrency analyst and trader who has gained a large following on social media platforms for his knowledge and analysis of the cryptocurrency market.

Van de Poppe shares his views on market trends, potential investment opportunities and trading strategies, often focusing on Bitcoin, Ethereum and a wide range of altcoins.

On February 25, in a detailed post on social media platform X, revealed his thoughts on the optimal strategy for interacting with altcoins, especially those on an upward trajectory. His speech, aimed at demystifying the approach to altcoin investing amid the frenzy of bull cycles, offers a treasure trove of wisdom for both novice and experienced investors:

“People are getting excited about an altcoin that has been trending upwards, and perhaps, now, some people have made a bunch of money on those altcoins.

Does that mean you should jump on the bandwagon? Probably not. But it’s understandable; your emotions are getting in control, and people tend to follow each other.”

The Altcoin Enigma: FOMO Versus Strategic Entry

Van de Poppe articulates the common scenario where market euphoria for certain altcoins tempts many to jump on the bandwagon, often too late in the game. From his own experiences and observations, Van de Poppe reveals that a significant number of investors, between 80% and 90%, tend to take action in the final stretch of the price increase, reflecting newcomer regret in many investment stories.

Van de Poppe’s Key Strategies for Altcoin Investment

Recognizing the hype cycle. Van de Poppe emphasizes the critical importance of gauging market sentiment, suggesting that an increase in social media rumors often indicates that the investment window may already be narrowing. It points to the psychological trap where investors, witnessing a 200% to 400% rally, feel compelled to participate in the gains, inadvertently buying into peak valuations driven by a feeling of excess.

Taking advantage of low confidence moments. A cornerstone of Van de Poppe’s strategy is the identification and exploitation of the market’s low confidence intervals. He illustrates this with the aftermath of the FTX collapse, where Bitcoin remained around $15,500, a period marked by general disinterest but which presents a golden opportunity for the most demanding investors.

This principle, he maintains, applies universally to all altcoins; The most auspicious moments often arise not in the midst of clamor but in the quiet, where the potential of the ecosystem has not yet been recognized by the masses.

The dangers of rally chasing. A prominent warning from Van de Poppe concerns the dangers of pursuing demonstrations. He categorically advises against entering a market in the middle of a bullish frenzy, as late entrants are more likely to buy at the top, facing imminent corrections. Instead, he highlights the virtue of patience, advocating post-correction entry, a strategy that significantly tilts the risk/reward balance in favor of the investor.

Van de Poppe’s Golden Rule

The essence of Van de Poppe’s advice coalesces into one golden rule: interact with an altcoin only after it has retraced significantly from its peak. This approach not only protects against the volatility of speculative spikes but also ensures a more favorable entry point, increasing the potential for sustainable profits.

FTX Resolves Dispute and Recovers European Division for USD 32.7 Million, and other News

The Swiss company Digital Assets AG (DAAG), later renamed FTX Europe, had been acquired in 2021 in a deal that reached USD 323 million.

Cryptocurrency exchange platform FTX has reached an agreement to resolve a dispute related to its European division, opting to return the entity to its original owners. According to Reuters reports, on February 24, FTX has agreed to the sale of FTX Europe to its founders for a sum of USD 32.7 million, indicating possible difficulties in finding alternative buyers.

The resolution of the dispute comes after FTX attempted to recover the funds invested in the acquisition. The exchange filed a lawsuit arguing that the purchase was financed with customer funds and maintaining that the acquisition price represented a “massive overpricing.”

In response, the startup’s founders, Patrick Gruhn and Robin Matzke, refuted the allegations. In this sense, they filed a counterclaim requesting USD 256.6 million from FTX. As reported by Reuters, the dispute came to an end on February 21.

Riot Platforms Celebrates 19% Increase in Bitcoin Production in 2023

Bitcoin mining company, Riot Platforms, announced a 19% growth in the amount of Bitcoin produced during the year 2023. Thus reaching the figure of 6,626 BTC. This success is largely attributed to the average BTC price rally throughout the year, in stark contrast to the 2022 bear market.

According to the report published by Riot Platforms on February 22, the average mining cost per Bitcoin in 2023 decreased significantly compared to the previous year.

The company managed to reduce this cost by approximately USD 3,686, with a net cost of USD 7,539 per Bitcoin in 2023, considering the energy credits allocated to self-mining. This figure represents a 33% decrease compared to the cost of $11,225 per Bitcoin in 2022 within Riot Platforms.

Added to this are other milestones such as an important agreement with MicroBT to supply the latest mining equipment at long-term fixed prices. In addition, Riot is building a farm in Corsicana, which will become the largest facility in the world with a capacity of 1 Gigawatt.
