Who Will Dominate the Ethereum ETF Market?

An investment firm Ń–s speculating Đľn the future Đľf the Ether ETFs that are about tо be launched Ń–n the United States.

The launch Đľf spot Bitcoin (BTC) ETFs seemed like a major milestone, but far from dampening the excitement, Ń–t has fueled interest Ń–n Ether (ETH) ETFs, the Ethereum cryptocurrency.

With the imminent arrival Đľf these funds, the cryptocurrency world Ń–s buzzing with anticipation. As such, investors will have tĐľ make several key decisions that will determine who will dominate the market for these funds.

One Đľf the most important steps will be the choice Đľf issuers Ń–n which tĐľ invest. Here, the fees offered by the companies play a critical role.

ETF fees are costs associated with investing that are typically included Ń–n the asset price. These fees are used tо cover the costs Đľf management, brokerage, and administrative services, thus providing the issuing company with a profit.

According tĐľ Roxanna Islam, an analyst at research and investment firm VettaFi, as with bitcoin ETFs, the biggest differentiator between the various options will be fees.

“Fees could be similar for each bitcoin spot ether counterparty,” she notes Ń–n her report.

Fees Boost Some Bitcoin ETFs, Hurt Others

With bitcoin ETFs, lower fees for ETFs issued by the likes Đľf BlackRock and Fidelity have allowed them tĐľ dominate the digital asset-based fund sector, suggesting they could dominate again with Ethereum ETFs.

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) manages 305,591 BTC, while Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) holds 171,529 BTC. Their success Ń–s due tĐľ the significant investor interest generated by their low fees.

In contrast, high fees can hinder the success Đľf an ETF, as seen with Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), which went from holding the most BTC tĐľ falling behind IBIT Ń–n terms Đľf BTC under management with 280,413 BTC.

Retail Investors Prefer Bitcoin, But That Could Change

Some retail investors want exposure tĐľ bitcoin through ETFs without buying Ń–t outright. This group sees the funds as an easier way tĐľ invest. Reasons for investing Ń–n bitcoin include diversification, inflation protection and growth potential.

According tĐľ Islam’s analysis, the high correlation between bitcoin and ether reduces the diversification benefit Đľf investing Ń–n both.

“Although the correlations have diverged recently, they are still relatively high between the two. This means that investors may not have diversification as a reason tĐľ invest Ń–n both,” he notes. However, ether ETFs can still be attractive due tĐľ the different use cases between BTC and ETH.

Ether, as the cryptocurrency that powers the Ethereum network, serves as a platform for stablecoins, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) and other decentralized applications (dApps).

In fact, Islam claims that “the growth potential Đľf Ethereum applications could exceed that Đľf bitcoin Ń–n the long run.

ETF specialist Nate Geraci asks why BTC and ETH can’t coexist. In his opinion, they have completely different use cases.

“Don’t get caught up Ń–n the animosity between bitcoin and ether advocates,” he says. A prime example, he says, Ń–s that gold and oil investors don’t argue about which Ń–s better. “That doesn’t make sense,” he argues.

For now, the final date when Ethereum ETFs will be allowed tо be listed Đľn the exchange remains tо be seen. According tо a statement by Gary Gensler, chairman Đľf the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), they will be approved “sometime this summer,” according tо media reports,

Given Gensler’s lack Đľf clarity, Bloomberg Intelligence analyst and ETF specialist Eric Balchunas noted that the new financial products are likely tо be approved during the first week Đľf July.

Bitcoin as a Safe Haven? BlackRock CEO Sees Global Economic Crisis

Fink announced the Investor Coalition’s $25 billion commitment tĐľ the growth Đľf emerging Asia. He emphasized the shift tĐľ capital markets for private sector financing rather than traditional banking models. Bitcoin Ń–s gaining traction as a safe haven with low correlation tĐľ equities and strong institutional support.

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink recently addressed the leaders Đľf the Group Đľf Seven (G7) nations. He highlighted a significant shift Ń–n the global financial system.

Fink highlighted the growing role Đľf capital markets as the primary source Đľf private sector financing. This shift signals an urgent need for new strategies tĐľ unlock financial potential.

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink: The Growth Dilemma

In a keynote address, Fink highlighted a pressing “growth dilemma” that affects both emerging markets and established economic powers:

“The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank were created 80 years ago when banks, not markets, financed most things. Today, the financial world Ń–s reversed. Capital markets are the largest source Đľf financing for the private sector,” Fink said.

Recent reforms have already yielded significant results, with billions Đľf dollars flowing into infrastructure Ń–n developing countries. However, he emphasized the need for a new approach tĐľ unlocking capital that differs from traditional bank balance sheet models.

As a result, Fink announced the formation Đľf the Investor Coalition, including BlackRock, GIP and KKR, which will commit $25 billion tĐľ emerging Asia. This initiative mirrors similar efforts Ń–n Africa tĐľ stimulate economic growth through infrastructure investment.

Larry Fink emphasized that the need for growth extends beyond emerging markets:

“The major economic powers, including the G7, are indeed Đľn the list. Certainly, growth Ń–n the future. We all face a growth dilemma, whether we solve Ń–t Đľr not. It Ń–s a significant economic bifurcation for our countries,” he said.

BlackRock CEO Speaks tо G7

With G7 countries averaging 129% debt tо GDP, traditional methods оf taxing and cutting spending are not enough. Fink argued that real growth іs essential tо overcome this economic hurdle, although іt іs increasingly difficult tо achieve due tо changing demographics and a shrinking working-age population.

In light Đľf these economic concerns, bitcoin has gained attention as a potential safe haven. Analysts at blockchain analytics firm Kaiko have observed large institutional players such as Franklin Templeton, Fidelity and even BlackRock praising bitcoin’s safe-haven characteristics.

Unlike traditional safe havens, bitcoin offers higher returns and a low correlation tĐľ stocks, especially during market turbulence. Kaiko’s analysis shows that bitcoin’s 60-day correlation with the Nasdaq 100 has declined over the past year, averaging near zero since June 2023.

This low correlation increases its appeal as a safe haven, especially during financial crises such as last year’s U.S. banking crisis, where bitcoin outperformed traditional assets such as gold and U.S. bonds.

Is the Bitcoin Spot Exchange Traded Fund a Safe Haven Investment?

The introduction Đľf spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) Ń–n the United States has also seen strong demand, with more than $15 billion Ń–n net inflows since their launch Ń–n January 2024. These ETFs capitalize Đľn bitcoin’s asymmetric returns and its reputation as a reliable asset Ń–n times Đľf economic instability.

As the global economy faces unprecedented challenges, bitcoin’s role as a safe haven Ń–s becoming increasingly important. With institutional backers, bitcoin stands out as a viable option for investors seeking stability amid economic uncertainty.

“I bet It All On Altcoins… And They Crashed”

Trader Michaël van de Poppe reflects on the strategy he has chosen in this cryptocurrency bull cycle.

MichaĂ«l van de Poppe’s investment portfolio is currently at a loss. “I bet everything on altcoins a month ago, and now they have plummeted,” he revealed, exposing his pitiful situation.

With the imminent approval of Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States a month ago, the analyst expected altcoins (cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin) to gain momentum. As a result, he decided to rotate his portfolio capital into this niche market.

“It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve made in recent years regarding my cryptocurrency investments, but I felt it was one of the easiest,” he commented. It was a moment he saw as a risky opportunity not to be missed. But, he warns, altcoins began to bleed massively after his move.

While the ETF approval briefly pushed the market higher, economic data reported by a media outlet later pulled it back. “I didn’t realize the markets were capable of further corrections, which is why I’m currently down with my investments,” he said.

“Probably more people like me are way down with their portfolios,” he said, feeling empathy and sympathy. However, he assured that he is not completely worried as he still has bullish expectations and this is not the first time this has happened to him.

“I Got into It too Early.”

It’s nothing new for van de Poppe to have a cryptocurrency-filled investment portfolio at a loss. “In the previous cycle, I also bet everything on altcoins early on and timed it too early,” he expressed. Be that as it may, even though it took a while, he recalls that the result was a great return to the upside.

The specialist said that during this cycle, he exposed his investment capital in verasity (VRA), polygon (MATIC) and fantom (FTM), altcoins that fell by more than 50% in the following months. However, once this correction was over, he notes that they multiplied their price 200 times, allowing him to take profits.

Due to the low capitalization of altcoins compared to bitcoin (BTC), they have higher volatility with lower trading volumes. Thus, they function as assets that can generate high profits as well as losses. Therefore, their trading is high risk.

In addition, new coins tend to become popular in every bitcoin bull market, so many coins that have seen significant rallies in the past never see them again. For example, the three altcoins van de Poppe invested in during the last cycle are now trading between 80% and 96% below their all-time highs set in 2021.

Meanwhile, bitcoin set a new price record three months ago and has been consolidating below it ever since. It is currently trading 10% below that level, which was $73,700 (USD).

When bitcoin broke above its previous cycle high in the previous bull cycle, that is when altcoins started to wake up, as happened this year. Therefore, a breakout to the upside from the current consolidation period could revive this phenomenon.

Given this scenario, van de Poppe cautioned that he is not changing his positioning at all for the time being. “I am confident in this strategy and I am happy to be positioned in relatively new assets,” he said. “Maybe I will lose a lot, maybe not,” he added. Time will tell.

Worldcoin Increases Investment in Argentina to Expand Services

The technological bet that promises to revolutionize Argentina’s digital economy.

In Argentina, Worldcoin partners have been working hard to increase access to key AI tools such as World ID, a private digital passport that differentiates humans from bots online. The project has announced that it is ready to grow in Argentina, resulting in significant direct investment in the country.

According to Worldcoin, the additional funds will be used to expand operations to meet the needs of more Argentines, create career opportunities and open new Orb verification locations across the country.

Worldcoin: Commitment to Argentina

Worldcoin has announced its commitment to increase investment and expand operations in Argentina, with the goal of making the country a hub for the region. Based on the country’s technological and economic development,

Worldcoin plans to offer at least 50 skilled positions for developers, operations specialists, software engineers, data analysts and more.

Expanding Operations

Worldcoin also expects to open 50 new locations in more than 10 cities in Argentina during the Argentine summer, including two experiential stores. Every month, more than one million Argentines use World App, which is developed and operated by project partner TFH.

According to Worldcoin, World App is the first virtual wallet to support the Worldcoin token (WLD), helping to increase access to the global economy. In the first few months of 2024, World App was the most downloaded app in the country on both the App Store and Google Play.

Importance of Proof of Humanity

Worldcoin highlights that approximately 4 billion people worldwide lack a legally and digitally verifiable identity, which is a critical barrier to accessing basic financial services.

Worldcoin proposes that solutions such as World ID, a digital passport that allows anyone to prove they are unique and human online, can help solve this problem while keeping their identity private.

Social and Economic Impact

Worldcoin’s investment in Argentina aims to have a technological as well as a social and economic impact. By opening up new job opportunities and facilitating access to advanced digital tools, it is expected to significantly improve the financial and digital inclusion of Argentine citizens.

Worldcoin believes that this expansion could also attract other investors and technology companies to the country, creating a positive impact on the local economy.

Technology in the Service of Humanity

Worldcoin claims that its technology and focus on proving humanity represents a significant advancement in interacting with the digital world. By providing a verifiable and private digital identity, Worldcoin claims to help overcome one of the greatest barriers to global digital inclusion.

This advancement would not only benefit individuals, but also strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure.

Collaboration and Community

Worldcoin is committed to building a strong and collaborative community in Argentina. Through events, workshops and training programs, they aim to empower local developers and foster an innovation ecosystem.

According to Worldcoin, this open collaboration with the local community is critical to the long-term success of the project.

Worldcoin’s Future in Argentina

With the current investment and expansion, Worldcoin has a promising future in Argentina. As more people adopt the World App and use the World ID, further integration of these tools into the daily lives of Argentines is expected.

Worldcoin anticipates that this will not only facilitate access to financial services, but also promote a more inclusive and equitable economy.

Despite of the abovementioned, it is worth considering the risks of having one’s iris scanned and stored. If the systems that store the encrypted information are vulnerable and cybercriminals gain access to the data, they would be able to impersonate a person if they can match the data to real people.

Is Ethereum Poised tо Break Records? Leading Analyst Says $5,000 Will Come Soon

Jelle’s prediction comes as Ethereum Ń–s experiencing a form Đľf stabilization above the $3,500 mark, following a correction from its March high Đľf over $4,000.

Leading crypto analyst Jelle has predicted that Ethereum (ETH) will rise tĐľ $5,000 by the end Đľf this year. This prediction has a remarkable reason from a technical perspective.

Ethereum Rally: Setting the Stage for New Peaks

As the crypto community watches closely, Jelle’s insights suggest significant upside potential for Ethereum, especially as the market anticipates the launch Đľf Ethereum Spot Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). Jelle’s analysis points tо a pivotal moment for Ethereum.

After a brief dip Ń–n price, Ethereum rebounded tĐľ hit a low Đľf $3,384 last Friday; the asset Ń–s currently trading around $3500, showing a recovery, albeit down 2.2% over the past 24 hours and nearly 5% over the past week. This stabilization Ń–s a minor fluctuation and a critical support level that could foreshadow significant price movements.

According tĐľ Jelle, “$ETH successfully turned $3,500 into support! Very few people are ready for this one tĐľ make new all-time highs, but $5,000 ETH Ń–s very much Đľn the menu this year. Let’s roll.”

This statement underscores a strong belief that Ethereum Ń–s recovering and preparing for a significant uptrend. The current market dynamics provide fertile ground for such optimism. Ethereum’s resilience Ń–n maintaining key support levels amidst market volatility bodes well for its potential tĐľ surpass previous highs.

The planned launch Đľf Ethereum spot ETFs Ń–s expected tĐľ further boost its market capitalization by attracting institutional and retail investors attracted by its ecosystem and the promise Đľf greater liquidity and regulatory compliance.

Strategic Moves and Market Sentiment

The crypto market Ń–n general, and Ethereum Ń–n particular, Ń–s buzzing with activity Ń–n anticipation Đľf its inclusion Ń–n ETH ETFs. Recent data from a media outlet shows that the crypto community Ń–s particularly bullish Đľn Ethereum, as evidenced by the significant number Đľf expiring ETH options contracts.

Most Đľf these are call options betting Đľn Ethereum’s rising price, with a remarkably low call tĐľ call ratio Đľf 0.36, indicating strong bullish sentiment among traders. This bullish outlook Ń–s further supported by significant buying activity from long holders, especially institutions.

On June 12th, these investors made one Đľf the largest single-day purchases Đľf Ethereum, buying 298,000 ETH, just shy Đľf the record 317,000 ETH purchased Đľn September 11th.

The price Đľf ETH Ń–s moving sideways Đľn the 4-hour chart. Such investment activity not only underscores confidence Ń–n Ethereum’s long-term value, but also indicates a market poised for a rally, especially with potential catalysts such as the approval Đľf ETH spot ETFs Đľn the horizon.

Furthermore, QCP Capital’s analysis reinforces this sentiment, noting that Ethereum’s implied volatility Ń–s higher than bitcoin’s. This suggests that while the overall crypto market may see moderate activity over the summer, Ethereum could see significant trading volumes and price movements, especially as ETFs begin live trading.

ETH Forecast

According tĐľ CryptoPredictions, Ethereum started Ń–n June 2024 at $3,761.069 and Ń–s predicted tĐľ finish the month at $4,235.737. During June, the maximum forecasted ETH price Ń–s $3,958.619 and the minimum price Ń–s $2,691.861.

The ETH Price Ń–s forecasted for today (18.06.2024) tо be Ń–n the $2,917.399 – $4,290.293 price range. Ethereum Ń–s predicted tĐľ end today at $3,432.234.

Balaji Srinivasan Predicts the Future оf Cryptocurrencies and Artificial Intelligence, and other News

Cryptocurrencies represent a form Đľf digital scarcity that will maintain its value and importance.

Balaji Srinivasan, former Chief Technology Officer Đľf Coinbase and prominent angel investor, has shared his vision for the future interaction between cryptocurrencies and artificial intelligence (AI) via his X account:

“What Ń–s money after generative AI and robotics? This Ń–s essentially crypto. Money itself becomes cryptocurrency, just as much intelligence becomes electricity,” he posted, explaining five reasons behind his point Đľf view.

Srinivasan argues that cryptocurrencies will become the dominant form Đľf money as AI and robotics take hold, thanks tо their inherent scarcity and security. This view has sparked widespread debate within the cryptocurrency community.

In his analysis, Srinivasan explains that Ń–n a world where AI can easily mimic human behavior, cryptocurrencies are ideal for demonstrating human authenticity.

He further notes that while robots owned by individuals dĐľ not require monetary exchanges tĐľ operate, those managed by different economic actors will require financial transactions. Cryptocurrencies, according tĐľ Srinivasan, can facilitate these transactions efficiently and securely.

David Hirsch Farewell tĐľ SEC After Nearly a Decade Đľf Service

David Hirsch, the recognized leader Đľf the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Cryptoassets and Cyber Unit, has stepped down from his position after nearly nine years. The news came tо light via LinkedIn, where Hirsch reflected Đľn his experiences and accomplishments during his time at the agency.

Throughout his career at the SEC, Hirsch faced complex investigations and challenges, and played a key role Ń–n developing and overseeing policies related tĐľ cryptoassets and cybersecurity. His leadership Đľf the Cryptoassets and Cyber Unit was instrumental Ń–n addressing emerging issues Ń–n these areas.

While Hirsch did not disclose his immediate plans, he expected tĐľ take a short break before sharing details about his professional future. Prior tĐľ his time at the SEC, Hirsch contributed tĐľ New York University’s Center for Cybersecurity and served Đľn its legal advisory board.

Coinbase Report Reveals Growing Adoption Đľf Blockchain Among Fortune 500 Companies

Coinbase’s latest report, “Q2 2024 State Đľf Cryptocurrencies,” produced Ń–n collaboration with The Block, provides an in-depth look at how leading U.S. public companies are adopting blockchain technology. Known as “Fortune 500 Moving Onchain,” the study analyzes not only adoption among Fortune 500 companies, but also emerging trends Ń–n tokenization and stable coins. as well as small business perspectives Đľn blockchain adoption.

The first part Đľf the report focuses Đľn blockchain, cryptocurrency and Web3-related initiatives at Fortune 100 companies. According tĐľ the survey Đľf Fortune 500 executives, the number Đľf blockchain initiatives reported by Fortune 100 companies has increased by 39% Ń–n the last year. More than half, 56%, Đľf Fortune 500 companies are working Đľn blockchain projects, including consumer-facing payment applications.

New Evidence оf Fake Transfers Points tо Dо Kwon

South Korean authorities recently presented new evidence that allegedly implicates Dо Kwon, co-founder Đľf Terraform Labs, Ń–n a scheme tĐľ defraud investors. The former entrepreneur allegedly conducted fake transactions involving Terra tokens (LUNA) and the algorithmically stable coin TerraUSD (UST).

This evidence, revealed by the Yonhap news agency, comes amid the ongoing investigation into the collapse Đľf Terra Ń–n May 2022. It should be recalled that this event caused billions Đľf dollars Ń–n losses across the crypto world. Terra’s collapse was one Đľf the first elements that ushered Ń–n the crypto winter Đľf 2022.

Taking advantage Đľf the huge returns, many companies Ń–n the industry held capital Ń–n UST Đľn Terra protocols. The result was the total loss Đľf these funds after the stablecoin implosion.
