Pantera Capital requests massive fundraising of 134 million dollars

0

The monstrous grossing could be an indication that the company’s ambitions are increasing due to the rise in the price of Bitcoin.

In a filing with the SEC yesterday, Bitcoin hedge fund giant Pantera Capital announced a share offering of about $ 134 million, maybe one of the largest equity fundraising efforts in the seven years of History of the company.

Pantera Capital saw the light in 2013 as the first Bitcoin fund in the United States, Pantera initially raised a paltry $ 13 million and then $ 25 million, but the fund focused its efforts toward a larger increase with better probabilities to lead to the formation of a third investment fund, called Venture Fund III in 2018. This new fund attracted at least $ 164 million between 2018 and 2020, and most of the capital inflows concluded the disastrous 2019 of cryptocurrencies.

Now, as cryptocurrencies appear to begin another big bull cycle, the SEC filing indicates that Pantera is fishing big plans for the future.

While there has been no word on whether this new increase will result in a new fund or simply expand Venture Fund III’s reach, the latest investments and commentary from Pantera executives could offer clues to its next strategy.

Pantera CEO Dan Morehead said in a recent interview that he believes that in the growth of decentralized finance resides the potential to outpace the rise of Bitcoin and that the firm is focusing its new bets on the emerging ecosystem. Additionally, Pantera appears to have plans on the crypto derivatives market, as evidenced by a recent investment in derivatives platform Globe.

However, Bitcoin bulls shouldn’t look down on interest in DeFi and its derivatives. Morehead also previously set a wonderful price target for the largest cryptocurrency as it predicted a $ 350,000 price for Bitcoin before.

As the first U.S. Bitcoin investment firm, Pantera Capital is the leading blockchain investment firm and one of the largest institutional owners of cryptocurrencies. Its primal mission is to act as the catalyst for widespread blockchain adoption.

Pantera is focused on investing in blockchain technologies; the Pantera team is experienced in both traditional finance and emergent blockchain technology. By keeping strong relationships and bonds with some of the most promising entrepreneurs and other top investors in the space, Pantera is fulfilling and setting its amazing investment philosophy by building a diversified portfolio and bringing industry-specific value-add resources to its portfolio companies.

SoftBank CEO assures that he does not understand Bitcoin.

0

Masayoshi Son, CEO of SoftBank, talked about his actual lack of understanding about anything concerning Bitcoin and that he got tired of monitoring its market in 2018.

Among the things that puzzled him, Son stated that one of the most uncomfortable aspects was the volatility present within that market, which is why he continuously reviewed the indicators each minute so that he can understand the constant fluctuation of Bitcoin prices.

In this regard, the CEO of SoftBank also indicated that he just quit checking the price of Bitcoin every day and that by being attentive to the evolution of this market, he ended up neglecting his own business, which rose losses of about USD 50 million.

About leaving the ecosystem of digital currencies, Son pointed out that he felt much better, like some kind of relief, and pointed out that although he does not understand well what Bitcoin is about, he does not doubt that this and other digital currencies will continue to consolidate their presences in the financial ecosystem but on a more personal level, he will focus his interest on more suitable projects.

Bitcoin is getting better than in 2018

The statements of the CEO of SoftBank come at a time when Bitcoin is heading towards new all-time highs, trading this November 20 above USD 18,000 per unit.

Many analysts and enthusiasts associate this increase seen in prices to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, which led to a fall within traditional markets, amid uncertainty due to the increase in the number of infections globally. Another incident that also had strong repercussions was the presidential elections in the United States, in which the Democrat Joe Biden defeated the Republican Donald Trump in a very close electoral contest.

There are some comments by reputable investors from traditional sectors, including personalities such as Stanley Drukenmiller, Bill Miller, Paul Tudor, Robert Kiyosaki, and others, who invited their followers to consider Bitcoin as an asset investment.

Other related events to this rise in Bitcoin prices are the actual move of Paypal adopting Bitcoin, as well as significant investments made by reputable companies, such as Square and many others.

Buda.com, a Latin exchange for buying, selling, and trading bitcoin and cryptocurrencies

0

Buda operates with the local currencies of Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru. The platform allows withdrawals in BTC through the Lightning network

With Buda.com you can buy and sell cryptocurrencies in your local currency. Be it Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Ethereum (ETH). This exchange of Chilean origin also integrates the spectacular chance of making payments through the Bitcoin Lightning network. All this thanks to a simple interface that allows you to make quick purchases and sales or to trade. In this review, we will tell you everything you need to know about this platform.

What is Buda.com?

Buda.com is a Latin American cryptocurrency exchange that comes from Chile and that operates in 4 countries in the region (Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Colombia). The platform works as a brokerage house since it allows making exchanges in a  populated market, under the modality of trading or fast exchanges. It is operating since 2015.

Operations within Buda carry on in 4 different national currencies: Argentine peso (ARS), Colombian peso (COL), Chilean peso (CLP), and Peruvian Sol (PEN). Each of these coins can function in order to buy and sell the four cryptocurrencies available on Buda.com.

Something interesting is that you can operate within Buda.com even if you do not reside within the 4 countries in which the platform operates. Of course, the identity verification must happen with documents from one of these four countries, since this information must match the bank details you provide for withdrawals.  Of course, also bearing in mind that Buddha allows withdrawal only to accounts that are in your name.

However, trading operations, or advanced exchanges happen regardless of whether or not they are with your local currency. For example, you have deposited Colombian pesos, and you see that the BTC / PEN pair is moving favorably. So, you could buy BTC with your Colombian pesos and later sell them for Peruvian soles thanks to the trading interface that Buda.com integrates.

Buy and sell bitcoins and cryptocurrencies easily and simply with Buda.com

One of the features that Buda.com offers you is the ability to buy and sell cryptocurrencies quickly thanks to the option of buying and selling fast “Buy / Sell”. This option allows you to trade with all the markets or exchange pairs available within Buda, including the exchanges between the available cryptocurrencies.

The purchases or sales that you make with this option will have a time window of 1 minute, which will freeze the exchange rate during this period until you finally confirm the purchase or sale.

Once the purchase is confirmed, the cryptocurrencies will be available immediately in case you want to withdraw them. To be able to use both this type of purchase and the trading interface, it is necessary that you have at least basic identity verification.

Bitcoin Miners are Generating Daily Revenue of over $ 20 million

0

Bitcoin’s bull market would be the main reason for this profit surge. The hashrate of the network has also increased, suggesting more miners connected.

The total daily income by miners for their activities in the Bitcoin network reached its maximum level for 2020 this week. The graphs from Glassnode and Blockchain.com show this week, also, the total mining profits returned to be the same as before the halving occurred.

$ 21.2 million was the total daily income generated by Bitcoin miners on November 18. The figure is the highest registered this year since similar metrics were only seen at the beginning of May, a few days after the network cut the reward received per block in half – on a scheduled basis.

By then the miners had come up with a strategy to earn how many bitcoins they could before halving, connecting the latest-model ASIC equipment and as many miners as possible. The price of Bitcoin was at $ 9,000 a unit at the time, and miners generated a daily income of up to $ 20 million with a block reward of 12.5 BTC.

Now that the network emits only 6.25 BTC per mined block, the miners are once again reaching the same gains from the beginning of the year thanks to the bull market that is being experienced at the moment. The cryptocurrency developed by Satoshi Nakamoto is at almost $ 18,000 per unit, a price never seen for two years ago.

More profitable mining = Happier miners

Bitcoin’s rising price favors network miners as many of them need to sell a portion of the coins they receive to cover operational expenses. Faced with a strengthened bitcoin, mining activities are more profitable because fewer cryptocurrencies are needed to cover the total costs.

It was exactly the low profitability that threatened the industry after the halving since as the miners’ reward decreased, their total income also decreased. After the downsizing, a significant number of miners had to disconnect the equipment that no longer generated the same profits as previously. Also, others decided to wait for the price of bitcoin to improve to compete in the market again.

A bitcoin above $ 17,000 seems to be a sufficient incentive for more and more miners to connect their equipment to the network. According to figures from BitInfoCharts, the network has reached a hash rate of 130.4 EH / s for the last 24 hours, as well as registering an increase of more than 10% in the last weeks.

The hashrate, or hash rate, would be measuring how much processing power the network is registering day by day. A figure that is closely related to the number of miners that connect to Bitcoin and how powerful these miners are.

Faced with an increase of 10%, it can be said that there are currently a greater number of computers operating on the network than months ago, which could be taking advantage of the high profitability that the network is offering at this time with bitcoin on the rise.

Bitcoin’s Top Metrics Have Hit Record Figures

0

Amid the cryptocurrency’s new big bullish rally, Bitcoin’s top metrics have been hitting all-time highs.

This has been Bitcoin’s best moment in years. When the price of the cryptocurrency is about to reach its highest all-time high, its top metrics are reaching record figures. Along with its price, the adoption of the cryptocurrency has been growing. This is a sign that this new big bullish rally is much more organic and sustainable than the one in 2017.

Market Capitalization

Bitcoin’s market capitalization is one of the top metrics that have hit all-time highs during this bullish rally. Its price has not yet reached its highest all-time high, but there are currently many more bitcoins on the market than during the last bullish rally, thanks to the users mining the cryptocurrency.

This has allowed BTC to achieve the largest market capitalization in its history. At the time of writing this article, the pioneering cryptocurrency reached USD 349,821,285,756, well above the USD 326,501 million that it had made in 2017.

Institutional Investors’ Participation

The massive participation of institutional investors is a big difference between this big bullish rally and the one in 2017. The principal boost for the price of Bitcoin came from small private investors and speculators in 2017. However, this time, large companies and investment firms are monitoring demand.

Grayscale, a firm that offers its institutional customers to serve as an intermediary between them and the crypto world, is the principal example of this. The company acquires and stores the cryptocurrencies that large investment firms wish to buy, thus saving them the hassle of managing directly their Bitcoin. The amount of Bitcoin that Grayscale has in custody exceeds the record figure of 500,000 BTC.

Addresses with USD 10 or More

The number of unique Bitcoin addresses with a balance of USD 10 or more is another metric that has hit all-time highs. The radical increase in the value of Bitcoin also occurs to that of the BTC saved in different addresses. So if someone had just over USD 5 worth of Bitcoin when the rally started, they would now have over USD 10.

New investors have massively entered the market due to a phenomenon known as FOMO (fear of missing out), which has also contributed to the increase in this figure. This momentum has led to a growing number of people to enter the crypto market to take advantage of the profits that the bullish rally generates before it is too late. Currently, the number of addresses with USD 10 or more is 18.32 million.

Number of BTC Addresses

The number of existing Bitcoin addresses on the cryptocurrency blockchain has also increased significantly, according to data from Glassnode. Right now, there is a record figure of 722 million unique addresses.

This is very important when it comes to the massification and popularity of Bitcoin. Although not all of these accounts are active, their number reflects the general public’s interest in the cryptocurrency. This bodes well for the future of BTC usability.

Payments in Bitcoin

The goal of Bitcoin is to become a currency that can compete with fiat money, not simply a speculative financial asset. To do this, it is necessary to talk about payments in Bitcoin, especially the volume of payments in BTC that users make in the United States.

The value of the operations that users execute through Silvergate allows knowing this figure. This famous American bank offers mechanisms to execute payments in cryptocurrencies to traders. In this sense, the Silvergate system has reached the record figure of USD 68.36 million in operations in Bitcoin.
