According to data provided by the website recordings.com, the soccer star Lionel Messi signed in 2017 an extension of his contract for four years and the astronomical figure of USD 84.8 million per year.
Messi would have received an average of 10,469.13 BTC, which is the annual equivalent of the price of Bitcoin at the time of signing the contract, in November 2017.
At the current market price (1 BTC ~ USD 60,662), Messi’s first salary of the present contract would currently be parallel to a sum that even surpasses USD 635.07 million, that is, seven times more than the original amount he signed with FC Barcelona of Spain.
